I was using the experimental part of my kindle to access the web. But now everything seems to be frozen. The only buttons that do work are page buttons. None of the other buttons such as home, menu or even back work. I just got this kindle about a week or so ago and I don't want to return it and wait for another kindle or even have to purchase another kindle all together. I'd like some help please.

reboot it by holding the power button on for a full 30 seconds (ignore any messages that come up) and then letting it come back up

btw, the experimental browser (unchanged since 2009 or earlier) is pretty much worthless and most websites do not play nice with it due to coding that will not work on it

I concur with what CBR said. The browser on the e-ink Kindles is an exercise in frustration.

The *only* time I've found it useful was once when I was driving somewhere, left the actual address at home, and was able to pull into a McDonald's, hop on their wi-fi, and pull the email with the information I needed.

In that pinch, it was useful, but other than that ... ?

I know the browser is useless, but it IS advertised as part of the device and we've all tried it. And I, too, had it get "stuck."

The 30 second hold the button down trick works.

When the first Kindles came out with the "experimental" web browser, I played around with it a bit and quickly discovered how worthless it is. I've never even attempted to use it for the past several years. I use my tablet or smart phone for portable internet and reserve my e-ink Kindle solely for reading.
