I downloaded an app to view word documents. However, when i went to search for my word documents, they weren't showing up. They are on my kindle fire because I emailed them to it. I can pull them up, just not with the app. I thought it was the app (office suite 6), so I tried quickoffice. Well, that is doing the same thing. It isn't showing my word documents. They are saved as .docx, which it says that they are supported. Does anyone know what to do? Both apps are viewing my pdfs fine, they just aren't finding the word docs.

K. Bailey - What are they doing? Or can you just not find them?

I just can't find them. On either of the apps, quickoffice or on office suite 6. On office suit, my pdfs pull up fine.

???

pdf is NOT a word documetn
at least not in any version of word i have

if somehow it is in the latest word
then the app is merely out of date

but if latest word does not do native pdf
then no word ap will have to do it either

I know, which is why it doesn't make sense that the app is reading the pdf files and not the word documents. And the app just updated, I think. Both say they support .docx

You said "They are on my kindle fire because I emailed them to it." Did you email them to a personal email address or to your kindle's email address "@free.kindle.com"?
If you emailed them to the kindle.com email address, that address is used for Amazon to convert the files to a Kindle format file, so they won't be called *.doc or *.docx anymore, therefore your Office Apps wouldn't be able to find them.
If you emailed them to an email address you set up on your kindle and saved the *.docx attachment from the email, then you might have to save them to a specific directory for the App to find them, where that would be should be in the instructions for the App.

In OfficeSuitePro when you are looking for them are you looking in the Local Files folder? In QuickofficePro they should be in Internal Storage and then in either Documents or Download.

You might want to download and install this free app, ES File Explorer. You can usually locate things in the Download folder and then move them to the Documents folder.

Okay! Yes, that makes sense. I did email them to my kindle email. Thank you.

Then they should show in the Docs tab on your Fire. I thought you had emailed them to yourself and were opening them in the email app.
