M. H. Lewis says:
Web --> Settings (touch icon at bottom) --> Scroll down to Enable Flash (in behavior section) --tap on Enable flash and select Always on or On demand.

Open the browser then click on the bottom of the screen. Click on the menu (three lines in center of the bar), click on settings then scroll down to behavior and enable flash.

Select WEB at the top right of Home page.

At the bottom to the right of the back arrow is a semi-square with lines in it. Select that.

Select Settings.

Scroll down until you see Behavior.

The second one below says Enable Flash.

That will give you a few options.
Always on
On demand

I have the same problem. When I to to web, then settings, there is no "behavior" option. I'm using the silk browser.

You are responding to a thread devoted to the first generation KF where the Silk browser optionally supported Flash. The second generation devices do not. You have to use a side loaded browser such as Dolphin Browser HD (8.5.1) with an associated Flash player.

On the other hand, if a particular website supports a "mobile" version, identified with a "m." e.g. and, you can use the Silk browser since the mobile site displays video content using HTML5 rather than Flash.

Oh, very sorry; I had noticed Ashley's post, and thought that referred to the Fire HD.

Don't worry about it. You and Ashley are not the first to make that mistake. Not that I'VE ever done it. ;)

You can install Flash on the new Fire or Fire HD by following the steps below:

To install Flash: (You have to have a Flash compatible browser in order to install Flash. You can't install it under Silk.)

Do the following on the Fire/Fire HD itself:

Swipe down from the top > More > Device > Allow Installation of Applications.

Install ES File Explorer: ES File Explorer

Download and install the Dolphin HD and Flash Player apk files from this link:

Once both files are downloaded to your Fire, open ES File Explorer and look in the "Downloads" folder. You should see both files there. Install Dolphin HD *first* by tapping on the icon. Then Install Flash.

I've done the browser change and flash installation but the videos on the website I'd like to watch (craft daily) are only showing sound, the picture remains black. Any ideas?

Bethany, since Adobe stopped supporting Flash for all Android devices, most websites have moved on to newer technology. You usually find this in an app or on the site's mobile version. If neither of them are available to you, I suggest contacting the webmaster for suggestions as this means all Android devices (Fires, phones, tablets, etc) cannot access that site.

I've tried this but when I opened the square with the three lines I did not see settings so what else can I do?

Read the whole thread including Vickie's explanation. As a general rule, following instructions from three years ago is unlikely to be profitable, or even possible on newer devices.

To get Flash back, start buying Adobe stock. When you have amassed controlling interest, demand they start supporting mobile again.

Adobe hasn't supported Flash on Android devices since 2012.
