All the great free kids content on Prime and i cannot allow them to access any of it!! MAJOR SHORTFALL. Now i still need to put the fire in daddy mode anytime the kids want to watch a show! I am so close to getting rid of cable and i thought amazon may have had my answer :( sadly still searching.

Note: You can't add video rentals or content from Prime Instant Video to Kindle FreeTime profiles.

Not having Prime Instant Video on FreeTime profiles makes sense to me.

I'm not sure why Amazon set Free Time up this way, but I agree that it's a frustrating limitation. Additionally, other users have not been able to add the Harry Potters books from Pottermore into Kindle Free Time profiles, and it looks like public library books will not work with Free Time either.

I would pass your concerns along to Amazon at kindle-feedback@amazon.com to make sure that they know you are having an issue with this. Perhaps this is something they can change with an update in the future.

I, like Felickz have run into this limitation. What I would like to do is double filter the Amazon instant movies - first by what is available through Prime (i.e. free), then by a kids and family criteron -- then make these available in FreeTime. Perhaps Amazon would consider this asking for too much without additional charges; however, I can not at this time put the device in non-FreeTime mode and allow my kid to browse movies. He is only six, and is nowhere near being economically sophisticated. The FreeTime unlimited video offerings (I am a new subscriber, this month) seem to be mainly TV cartoons, although I have not had time to scour the offerings to see for certain. Meanwhile, I noticed that the Amazon Prime roster using the website now has 564 matches with these criteria invoked. Some are available on the FreeTime unlimited subscription, for sure, but in my experience so far, others (the longer features) are not.
