Sorry if I posted in the wrong place - wife has old kindle - wants a 8.9" KF HD for Xmas
What is the advantage (or is there one) for getting the 32mb for extra $70? Anyone recommend any accessories?

You can store more movies, photos and what not with the 32GB version

Blue tooth keyboard?

It's GB, not mb. You'll kind of have to look at her use. If you have wi-fi at home and don't travel, 16GB is probably sufficient. If an additional $70 isn't going to be a big deal, though, the higher capacity device will hold more trade-in/resale value, but if she keeps it forever and a day, she won't outgrow it because of the limited capacity.

T J,

As GnomeEd says, the 32 gigabyte version doubles the amount of local storage space. The increased storage will enable your wife to store an additional 3-5 high definition movies, several thousand more books, or about 2000 more songs. (You can also store thousands and thousands of additional apps but that is likely irrelevant.) Your wife may not need that capacity; many people do not need it on a tablet. On the other hand, you cannot add storage to a KFHD after purchase so many people argue that purchasing the maximum available is good insurance.

GnomeEd's suggestion of a bluetooth keyboard is also a good idea, imo. Especially since the 8.9" model is far better suited than the 7" model for content creation. A couple of keyboards I use and recommend are cited below. I don't use the Logitech version but many people like it very much. As an aside, I don't care for combo cases/keyboards. It means you have to carry the keyboard wherever you go and the keyboards are often cheap. YMMV.

Finally, I would strongly recommend a stand of some sort, especially if you don't opt for a case that can be used as a stand. I use the one shown below. It's rugged, attractive, and very portable. And unlike many stands, it is open at the bottom, enabling the KFHD to be charged while sitting on the stand.

Marie, what exactly are you thinking of? A Fire should not be considered an upgrade, FYI.

You can't frickin' MEASURE it, or look in the paperwork that came with it? You don't deserve an answer, hon.

Lots of help there Mooncat are you in customer relations?
Kristin - your manual/paperwork should provide info - or you could ask whomever gifted it to you. or measure the screen diagonally with a ruler or tape measure to determine the screen size. The higher mb just allows you to store more books, no loss of fidelity etc.
Good luck with your new toy. Wife (avid reader) got larger 32mb and uses it constantly.

Note this is the second thread this person has started asking the same question.

Wow, you certainly gave her "new" info that I didn't - not.

Nanny on, however, if it makes you happy.
