My son recently ran out of space on his Kindle Fire HD. We share an Amazon account on the devices so that my boys can share books. I went to the Storage page and Kindle calculated the totals. Under Personal Video it shows 20.5mb but if you click to go to videos ou see "No Videos" in bold with instructions for how to transver movies onto the kindle. How is it possible that the storage calculation thinks there's 20.5mb. Similar issues are under each area like regular Video where I've gone and deleted all the downloaded movies and it's still showing a calculated amount. It's frustrating because his overall calculation shows the Kindle half full and there's a few apps on it, maybe 16, and that's about it.

These days, 20.5MB isn't hardly anything. A couple MP3 songs can weigh in around that much. It's probably just some system files.

Jo, it terms of how that's possible, my guess would be that maybe some videos have been cached from websites, but I don't know.

In terms of cleaning it up, I would suggest using the free app

Clean Master

That's the one I use (I am only associated with the app as a customer). It has about 2,500 customer reviews, and a rating close to the maximum 5 stars (4.7 at time of writing).

CatChat says:
you can try running Clean Master. it will help you get rid of useless junk and may find and clear out that 20.mb.

but al K Rowley said it's not a lot and won't make a big impact, and it is most likely something needed for the os.
