I returned book and deleted from my kindle/ iPad. Re- check out the book and downloaded to kindle/ iPad but being told my loan expired and can't be downloaded.

It doesn't sound like you actually did "re-check out and download." You are talking about your local public library, right? Not the KOLL?

Yes local public library. I originally "returned" the book last week and deleted it from the cloud and device. Checked it out again and downloaded it to iPad/ kindle and told the loan expired. It's a new loan as of today.

Okay, so it did download but then when you try to open it, it says it's expired?

Sarida says:

You went to the "Manage My Kindle" page and selected "return this book" then after the page reloaded, you selected "removed from my devices." Correct?

After those two steps, then you went to your library's website, and selected the book in the Kindle format, then checked it out and had it sent to your iPad.

Those are the steps I took. I returned the book over week ago. Went back to get it, was available and re- downloaded it but won't allow me to read it.

The first thing I'd try is rebooting the Kindle. If that doesn't resolve it, it sounds more like an Amazon thing than a library thing so I'd contact customer service. Maybe they can "reset" it, for lack of a better word.

I think this is a question for your library, then. IMHO.

Does it show up in your "Manage My Kindle" site as being checked out to you?

I could be wrong but because the problem is occurring after he gets sent to Amazon to get it, since it is downloading, it seems like it's an Amazon thing, maybe just regarding the date. On an e-ink Kindle, I'd even try just setting back the date on the device.

Perhaps I misunderstood. I thought he was sending it to his iPad Kindle app!

You're right. I read it as one or the other or both.

I'm having the exact same problem and think it is an Amazon thing. I am going to try to return the book and check it out as a non-Kindle format for my iPad.

I'm having the exact same problem and it has occurred twice. Both times I have called kindle customer service and been connected with a specialist. I have to explain the issue 3 or 4 times and they still don't know what the issue is. The first time the problem got fixed but I think it was just from returning and deleting it and signing out several times. The second time, today, after being put on hold numerous times for research to be done the call failed, so it's still not fixed.

I'm having the same problem, I re-checked out the book and sent it to my device from Amazon MYK, but am still getting the "Book Loan has Ended" message. I has to be an Amazon thing.
