Does anyone know if they sell a printer cable that will connect my fire to my printer? Ive searched but am not sure what I'm looking for. Any help or links would be appreciated.

A better option is a way to print to the printer via the LAN and the WiFi link.

I have a printer that is linked to the LAN and I can print to it from many PCs on the LAN.

Is there a way to print from the Fire to a LAN printer?

Try this Mary Lou. You will also need to download the Printer app as well. Best of luck!

@Mary Lou

Printing from you Kindle Fire is very easy. I am including a link to an application available from Amazon Apps for Android below:

PrinterShare Mobile Print

I am also including a link to an older version of PrintShare, the is available for free. I would suggest that you try this first to see how you like it.

PrintShare Mobile Print, will print to any wireless printer via WiFi. and also to your printer connected to you Computer. and hopefully you can access via WiFi.

If you do not have a WiFi Printer. then I am including a link to the developer's website where you can download the Print Server for your computer, whether Windows or Mac. Enjoy.

With either of these options you do not have to be connected to your computer or printer via cable. but you will need to be able to access one or the other via WiFi.

Ok was all set to try that app but it's say you have to pay for unlimited printing so what do you get for free? I am looking at that cable and it's the same as the one used for hooking the fire to the computer right? What software do you downlod to go with it for printing? Mary

@Mary Beaumariage

I guess I will have to try to find what you are reading. But in the mean time, I print webpages "Articles", I print parts of books. Photographs and what have you. And I have not had to pay any extra.

What are you going to try and print? The Encyclopedia Britannica?

Read the description on the getjar site. That is where I was seeing it. Will have to check out the other link. Mary

Mary, not everything in life is free. The description on the getjar site is telling you that this is a trial version. To continue to use the application after the trial period you will have to buy the application.

It is a good application, so far the best that I have found. If I find another, I will post it here.

I got Printershare when it was Amazon's free app but it wouldn't work with my Kodak printer, which barely worked anyway. Reading this thread got me curious about it and I installed it on my Toshiba Thrive and it found my new Canon printer right away and had a driver for it.

I just printed a page from Google Docs from my tablet, wirelessy, and it was a snap to do it. So thank you guys for this thread. I'd forgotten all about this.

By the way, printing is free when you have the paid app. It's only the trial version that won't print everything.

Truth is I don't have much need for this. I probably wouldn't have paid their fairly high price for it if I didn't already have the free version. I do very little printing. But if I did really need it this would be a bargain. It's simple, automatic and it just works.

If you google "PrinterShare Mobile Print" you can find an older version that you can get for free, and will work just fine. Then if you like it you can go for the paid app.

I misundersgtood the getjar site and didn't relize it was a trial version. I have a wireless printer so will have to play around to see if I can get it working. I have a laptop I use in bed to print from but more and more I find myself using the fire up there to surf and check email. Mary
