Options for viewing DVDs on Kindle Fire HD 8.9"?

I have purchased (via Amazon) many DVDs (mostly opera and Blu-ray format). What options (if any) do I have for viewing these on the newly announced Kindle Fire HD 8.9"? I'm assuming "cloud" access (without a physical DVD player).

Would there be a possibility of an "add on" player that would permit playback from a physical DVD?

There are a couple of options. Walmart now has a service where you take in your dvds, and for a couple dollars make them available for online streaming/download.. Not really up on how it actually works as I don't have a broadband connection, so it's not something I could use.

Or you could do what I do - convert them yourself. A number of years ago I bought one of these here at Amazon, Pinnacle Video Transfer Pc/mac Less Video Transfer Device - which is a gizmo that lets you record video to mp4 format. Mostly I keep it hooked up to one of those digital converters that were sold when digital tv first came out - that lets me record any tv shows that I want to watch later on my tablet - I can also hook it up to a dvd/vcr player and record content off those media as well. Not exactly HD, but it gets the job done. Problem is they don't make these anymore - but there are similar gizmos being sold here on Amazon (most require using a computer though). And there is software out there that will let you convert dvds to files that you can play on your tablet - one that I heard other people mention using is CuCuSoft (sold on the internet), but there are other packages too..

I just rip the DVD's to my computer. I use AnyDVD on my PC do decrypt the disks and then Use Handbrake to do the conversion. Under Linux I just use Handbrake with VLC media player to decrypt the disks.
