READ BEFORE POSTING: I know what this device's main purposes and features are, I know what demographic this device is best suited to, and I'm well aware that there are other devices that'd do a better job than the one I'm asking. Just so you know, I'm not buying a Kindle Fire for word processing, I'm buying it for the features that appeal to Kindle users. Give me a straight answer to my question, along with the technical details. And if you're replying, PLEASE be someone actually qualified to give me an answer, namely someone at Amazon who's well aware of the specs and technical abilities and restrictions of the Kindle Fire or a Kindle Fire owner.

I'm considering getting a Kindle Fire and (in addition to its main draws) using it to write on the go with any word processor app (I don't care if it's as robust as MS Word or bare bones as Notepad, so long as I CAN).

So here are my two questions:

1. Would any USB keyboards would be compatible with the Kindle Fire via a USB B to A connector?
2. Are ANY physical keyboards compatible with the Kindle Fire?

No and No. The USB port on the Kindle Fire will not recognize any USB devices, it is basically a External Hard drive only so you can transfer data from your computer to the Fire.

No. Check with Amazon Kindle CS. Contact Amazon Kindle Customer Support via http://www.amazon.com/kindlesupport, and then click on the Contact Us yellow button. Amazon employees rarely come into these forums, so I am just trying to save you some waiting time..

No USB or any other type of keyboard will work with the Kindle Fire.

If you wanted an answer from Amazon, you have posted to the wrong place. This is a customer forum.
