When I first set up the Kindle it switched from Portrait mode to Landscape mode depending on how I was holding it. Now it only stays in Landscape mode and I cannot get it to be viewed in Portrait mode. Anyone know why?

Check the settings (tap on the battery icon) and make sure you don't have rotation lock on.

Check your settings and make sure you haven't accidently locked it. I believe the setting is called 'Lock', but I don't have a Fire so I don't know for sure.

Just went through this myself. You'll find the Lock/Unlock button by pressing the Gear shaped button in the top left-hand corner, then it's the first button on the left. I thought it had something to do with locking or unlocking the sideloading....and would have never figured it out on my own!
