I have a kindle fire how do I know if I have 1st or 2nd generation when I don't remember when I got it? Is there a trade in program to upgrade to HD?

Here's the link to the Amazon trade in program - http://www.amazon.com/Trade-In/b/ref=us_ti_as?ie=UTF8&node=2242532011&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=auto-sparkle&pf_rd_r=0G1DGWTBEV5619MWFEDE&pf_rd_t=301&pf_rd_p=1558703402&pf_rd_i=trade%20in

You don't get much for the device. Most people say you get more using eBay/Craig's list, etc.

Here's a link to help you ID your device - http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=hp_200127470_ksupport_getstart?nodeId=200798820

Is there a way to look up the serial # as that link only helps if I know when it was purchased which I don't remember.

Go to Manage Your Kindle page. On the left, Manage Your Devices. This will show you which Kindle you have.

Most people find it easier to look at the pics and compare with their device which is why I gave you the link above.

To insert a product link use the format: [[ASIN:ASIN product-title]] (What's this?)
