Book Re-downloads at every sync.

As far as I'm aware, no one else has this particular problem, but my Kindle Android app redownloads one particular title, "A World Apart: The Jake Thomas Trilogy" every time the application syncs. Before you go to the condescending solutions, please realize that:
1) I have turned the phone off and on.
2) I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Kindle app on the phone.
3) I have uninstalled, deleted all kindle files, and then reinstalled.
4) I have uninstalled, deleted ALL files, then reinstalled.
5) I have uninstalled, deleted the book from my amazon account, waited a day, re-purchased the title, then reinstalled.
6) After step 5, I have contacted Amazon's technical support, and achieved zero long-term solutions to this problem. The only solution I had was in fact secondary to an inability to sync.

The problem has not left. The (admittedly very kindly) person on the phone support line was baffled by the problem. I've scoured the internet.

Logic seems to indicate that either the Kindle app is syphilitic or that some nigh-unprecedented app interaction on Android phones (Samsung Galaxy S IV) encourages the re-download of an (IMHO) 4-star title.

TL;DR: Kindle keeps re-downloading a book. NOTHING reasonable cures it.

I seem to remember other threads where people were having problems with their droid app re-downloading the same book constantly. I suggest a search using the search box on the right (be sure to uncheck "Search only this discussion") and see if any of them found a solution. It seems you have done all the "normal" steps.

EDIT - Are you running the Samsung Kindle app or the Amazon Kindle app? I'm running the Samsung Kindle app on my SIII and haven't had any issues.

FWIW, I purchased A World Apart (The Jake Thomas Trilogy Book 1) and loaded it on my Samsung SIII. I've opened the book, restarted the phone, re-opened the book, closed the book and opened another book, then reopened the book. I'm unable to get this book to download more than the first time. I even uninstalled and re-installed the Samsung Kindle app with no difference.

I'm not sure what the problem is with your SIV but I can't duplicate it. The only difference may be the app. As I've stated, mine is the Samsung Kindle reading app which is different from the Amazon Kindle reading app.

I have the same thing happening, although mine is fixated on Vernor Vinge's A Deepness In The Sky. I'm using a Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition.

I finally fixed the issue on mine by clearing the app's data and cache. After signing back in, it worked normally.
