My Kindle has stopped communicating with my PC using USB. I've isolated the problem to the Kindle USB connection. The Kindle will charge (light on and battery indicates charging), but will not communicate with the PC. Any suggestions are welcome.

How have you isolated it to the Kindle USB connection?? Along with CBRetriever's suggestion also reboot the Kindle. While the Kindle is unplugged hold the power button on for 30 seconds.

Thanks for the suggestions. All of the above suggestions done several times to confirm that it is most likely the Kindle connector. USB ports confirmed good, cables confirmed good, PC and Kindle both rebooted several times, and is was working yesterday.

Have you talked to Kindle Support? If the device is still under warranty, Kindle support will replace it.

Just finished talking to support. They had me do a factory reset on the Kindle, and the problem continued to exist. They are sending a replacement now. Thanks for the suggestions, and Amazon continues its outstanding support.

Are you sure you're using a USB cable that transmits data as well as power, or one that only transmits power?

New Kindle works fine with cables used on old one. Thanks. Back to reading...
