The books that show up in my online library are only from May of this year to the present. I have a lot more books on my Kindle that I have downloaded over the past year or more. How can I get all of those books to show up in my online library (so I can lend them)?

Did you purchase them all on the same Amazon account? Only one account can be accessed at a time. Just because they are on your Kindle home page doesn't mean they were purchased on the same Amazon account.

Are they all Amazon books? Non-Amazon books will not appear in your archives (library).

That's odd. Did you maybe have a different Amazon account?

that may be it. hmmm.... my husband has a Kindle too, so I will have to see if he has an online account I can access. Maybe my other books are there. I just recently set up my own Amazon kindle account online, and only the books I've purchased since setting that up are showing up. The others may be in an account of his perhaps. Thanks!

I found them! They are under my husband's account. He bought my Kindle for me for Christmas and set everything up under his email. So.... now that I found all my old purchases, is there any way to transfer them to my email address so they all show up in the same place?

C. S. Jones says:
Books belong to the account that purchased them and the licenses are non-transferable. If you needed to download them you would need to deregister from your account and register to his account in order to download the book. Reverse it to return to your own account.

You can't transfer them, but you can de-register your Kindle and register to his account. You'll have to decide which account has more books, and stay registered to that account. Books you've already gotten on your account will stay on your device, but will not show up in the archive unless you register back to that account.

T.R., it's worth checking with Kindle Support:

http://www.amazon.com/kindlesupport

(Amazon page relevant to the discussion)

You'll see a

Contact Us

button on your right.

I would call them or have the call you.

Combining accounts is not the policy, but I have heard of them doing it...can't hurt to ask. :)

No, there isn't. It stays with the account that purchased the books.

Kindle books belong to the account email.
When your husband logs in with his email
and goes to his manage kindle page only his books show.

When you log to your account with your email you see only your books.

Books in hubby account you canot lend unless you have access to his amazon log in
to get into his manage kindle page.

You should ask him first before you lend his books to someone else.

Thanks - actually, they're all books I downloaded onto my Kindle, but he bought it for me and set it up under his Amazon account. Since I can access both my account and his account (he doesn't use his), I can lend from both places I guess since I can't 'combine' them.

Thanks for the info on where to find the contact button! I will check with them. Not a big deal to have them in 2 different accounts, but would be more convenient to have them all listed together.
