I'm referring to the "Saved for Later" apps list available in the App Store on Kindle Fire.

When I view this list, and click-hold an app in the list, the "delete" option appears. I click it. The app disappears from the list. I exit the list, and come back: the app has reappeared in the list! I delete it again. Come back. It's back! Lather rinse repeat.

Most apps successfully delete from the list, but every now and then I put another app on there, only to find that it later refuses to be deleted from the list; and so over time these apps accumulate: I'm up to 8-10 apps filling up my "saved for later" list (some of which I've actually bought already!).

Can anyone help me clean out my "saved for later" list?

I have the same problem-only worse. NONE of my saved apps delete. I now have 90 apps on my list. I've tried. Deleting and synching after each one,but that didn't work either. Several of these apps have been installed at one time or another, but most I no longer am interested in. Please help.

Someone commented (just above) that maybe we should contact Amazon support, and so I did. While I was on the phone with support, Amazon deleted that comment! Hmmm....

Anyway, the support tech had no ready answer, but he's opened up a ticket. If and when I get an answer, I'll post it back here.

How interesting.
It was a copy and paste from the Amazon pages I did a couple months back thinking it would be of use to people.
Perhaps they changed the phone number or do not want phone numbers listed.

Interesting. How do i switch to Mozzilla as my default browser on the kindle fire? My browser is listed as the Amazon platform browser.

Are you saying you can access your Kindle Fire's Saved for Later list from a PC? I haven't been able to find a way to even see that list except via the Fire itself.

Sorry about the prior posts regarding using Firefox to delete 'saved for later' items. I was having trouble removing web-based 'saved for later' items from a PC IE9 browser and got it to work via Firefox. That had nothing to do with the kindle so I'm sorry for posting here in this kindle conversation. Regards, Dan T.

Does ANYONE have an answer to - how to delete the apps from my Saved for Later list on my Kindle Fire. I am going to lose my mind trying to get those apps off of there (some of which I have already purchased) The standard 'hold your finger on it till it says remove' - removes if for a few seconds and then they all come back. Very, very frustrating. Help - please - help.....

I am having the exact same problem, and it's really frustrating.

Following up from my comment months ago, when they opened up a ticket for me? Amazon never got back to me. The problem persists.

For what it's worth, I played around with it and noticed that the app-specific pages actually do properly reflect what's saved and what isn't. (I'm referring to the page that shows the app's description, with buttons for "photos", "reviews", "recommendations", etc.) On that screen, for any app that I've tried to remove from my saved-for-later list, I see that the "save" button at the top is NOT clicked. (When it's clicked, it reads "saved" rather than "save".)

So it's just the "list view" that's broken. These apps have been properly flagged as not-saved, but for some reason the list isn't properly refreshing to reflect that.

Thanks Gromit - I think anyone with the Generation #1 Kindle Fire is out of luck with ANY amazon support. :-(

I don't even see the option to delete the saved apps when long pressing. This has been a problem for months? Seriously?

There might have been an update since that post. Also, if you read the post above yours, it's only List View that has the issue.

Nope, still a problem with the current app version, and I am in the List View

The long tap has no effect on Kindle Fire is with software 7.2.3
I force-closed app store, cleared cache, no result.
Was anyone brave enough to try and erase app store data? I'm not sure what I will lose, and on a slow connection, I cannot afford to download everything again. App data is around 500MB

Solved!!!

Try at your own risk:
Open notifications> more> applications> installed applications> app store
Now tap clear data.

Worked for me. Check previous post for hardware and software configuration.

Did you have to reinstall any of your apps after you did this?

Enrico C. says:
None at all. The whole point is that even though CS's advice was to factory reset the device, just purging data was enough. Not exactly efficient, if you ask me...

Same here!I accidentally tapped on a adult cosplayer app and tried to get away by tapping on a random one.Turns out that I accidentally tapped to put it on my saved for later list!I hate cosplay apps, mature or not!Though
I have an idea.I think the only way to delete the saved for later apps is to reset your own kindle fire device!I did not see a delete button though,so I am assuming that it is because it is 2013 now.

Andy Felipe says:
Removing an app from your Saved For Later list in the app store is straightforward:

1) Bring up your 'Saved For Later' list from the app store;

2) Tap on the app from the Saved For Later list you want to remove so that the app description loads;

3) Scroll down to the bottom of the app description and you'll see a tab that says 'Saved'. Tap on that (it should now say 'Save For Later') and it'll remove it from your Saved For Later list.

4) Tap on the back arrow and you should now see that the app has been removed from the list. Repeat this process to remove further items.

Cheers, Andy

Thank you Andy Felipe - However, we all know how to remove the apps from the "Saved for Later" list. The entire point of this post is that they do not stay removed. They "re-appear" when exiting the "Saved for Later" list. Even when going online to try to permanently removed them - it still does not work. Amazon appears to have no interest in correcting this malfunction on 1st generation devices.

Have you tried switching browsers?
