I woke up my Kindle and it was displaying a message that said the book you were reading is no longer available and has been removed from this device...what the hell? Oh and the book I was actually reading is still there.

I think your kindle may be having nightmares. You may want to read it at bed time.

Actually this does happen when there is a version with fixes - but you needed to have requested the improved version. It happened to me... I got a couple e-mail regarding newer versions if the books coming out and had to reply/confirm I wanted the fixed version. with one of them, I was in the middle of it, with it open wanting to get to the end of a chapter to make finding my place easier in the new copy and not thinking - turned on wireless... and got the same thing.

You had to have downloaded 1984 about a year ago and not read it yet. There was a major issue with copyright issues about that book around July 2009.

Can;t be: If it was 1984, it wold have disappeared a long time ago, unless this is the forst time since the pulling of it that Wispernet was turned on, also if it was 1984, the book would still not be there.

Really sounds like a book that had an updated copy available...

Have you been living in a cave the past 4 years? This is old news. Amazon appologized and refunded everyone's money. It has never happened again. You should get the whole story before spouting off.

flipoid says:
Amazon removed the book (edit: back in 2009; there are legal copies now available) because the person who offered it for sale didn't have the rights to sell it. Also, you need to look up the definition of censorship.

So, not only did you feel the need to resurrect an old, outdated thread, but you also had to start a new one expressing the same WRONG information.

"Read story on AmericanDigest.org"

I guess the real question is why American Digest has a 4 year old story on thir front page.

Slow news decade?

Complying with copyright laws is NOT "censorship".

I'm pissed that you dredged up a three year old zombie thread.
