Has anyone had any luck with this? I have been trying SyncMate Free and Fliq Calendar app but no luck so far. Have tried using wireless and USB connections. I want to put my calendar from my Mac (iCal) onto my Kindle Fire HD to carry it in my purse.

What I do is sync my Mac calendar with my Google calendar. Then everything on my google calendar is available to me wherever.

MMM - are you on a new HD? I use Outlook and used your procedure of sync'ing with Google to get it on my Fire Gen1...but use the app Calengoo - nice app, saw good reviews of it. Calengoo allows me to sync across Fire, Android phone, desktop, laptop...works well. From what I understand, the HD calendar works TONS better than the Gen1 did, and should eliminate the need to use app like Calengoo...

I don't have the new Fire HD yet. I just find that syncing my calendar with Google seems to work on whatever device I have. My Mac calendar stopped working with the Exchange calendar at my job a while back, so now I just do everything on the google calendar. From what I've heard the google calendar seems to play well with the Fire HD, but I haven't used it myself yet.

I will try your suggestions. The google calendar sounds like a great idea. Thank you all so much!

Karen...don't just stop with your Fire...if you have a smart phone, think about sinc'ing across all 3...you should be able to do that...I don't add much stuff through my phone, as I tend to take my Fire with me most places...but there are times that it is easier to click through phone than anything else...

So, basically, what I'm seeing from every calendar related thread, is that if you don't have a google account, you can't sync to the calendar that came with the Fire HD???

I have a Macbook Pro and am very dependent on my iCal calendar. However I have the Fire HD and would like to be able to use it as a portable calendar. I also have a Google account and find that the Google calendar is good, but not as readily available as my iCal. To sync iCal and Google seems the way to go but would my calendar update be always available or only when I am in a wifi hot spot?

I also do not have a Google account (and don't want one). So Amazon should get its software developers to deal with this.
I would also like
Sync to iTunes on my Mac,
Sync to my iPhone when it's in HotSpot mode.

It's interesting that Amazon hasn't given a single reply to these questions.

Having the same problem here. I have an imac and my calendar is available in my google account. I have tried to syn to kindle fire hd by following the steps on the kindle fire where it asks for your google email which i have set as default, but I cannot use the calendar at all. So frustrated and have googled for an answer and just can't seem to find one.

I also needed to sync my iCal to my kindle and FINALLY found a way to do so. In the kindle app store there is an app called "CalDAV-Sync". I read the reviews, hesitantly purchased this app, but then all I had to do was enter my iCloud login and tell it which of my calendars I wanted. Super easy once I found the darn thing!

Amazon doesn't seem to care what we want or need. They are only in the business of selling and promoting Amazon products and refuse to play with the other kids.

Looking since weeks but have found nothing. Hey, Amazon, listen to your customers.

Why doesn't Amazon take the time to 'compete' a little more with Apple. I want a simple app that loads my iCal and contacts from my iPhone to my Kindle.
Is that really too much to ask? Is there anyone at Amazon who actually reads there posts, or is it the classic 'fax your complaint to this number >direct to shredder' situation?
HALLO AMAZON, IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE?

Can you give more details--step by step please. Specifically where did you enter iCloud and then what? Thanks.

You bet!
1. On your Kindle - go to app store and download "CalDAV-Sync".
2. Open this app and choose to add a new account.
3. It should ask what kind of account - I just chose the top one: "CalDAV".
4. Under "server name or URL", type "icloud.com"
Under "username", type the email you have associated with your iCloud account.
Under "password", type your usual iCloud password and then tap Next.
5. It will probably pause for a minute while it logs in and validates, and then it pulled up the 4 calendars I have on my iphone, and asked which of them I wanted to sync. (Side note: it even kept the individual calendar colors I had in my phone. Bonus points.) Choose whichever calendar(s) you need, and tap Next again.
6. I didn't change anything on the last screen, just tapped Finish.

Let me know if that doesn't work and I can go back and look at my settings and see if I can give you any more tips. Good luck!

Thank you JeremiahJohnson'sLady for the step by step instructions on getting the calendars to sync. I had been trying to do this for weeks. After I completed the steps above, my kindle told me I needed to install Google Tasks. Is this really needed in order to use my ICal?
