Someone recommended Kindred, which was a wonderful book, has anyone any other suggestions for a good time travel story, I also loved Time Travellers Wife. Thank you.

Replay, by Ken Grimwood is an interesting book about time travel. More like time-loop travel.

If you don't object to romance, Outlander: with Bonus Content is sort of the gold standard of time travel. It's a tome, though, and takes a bit of slogging to get to the good stuff. Don't give up on it - it really picks up after Claire travels through the standing stones. I note, as well, that it is on sale right now.

I second "Outlander." It's a GREAT book. But don't think of it only as a women's romance. Some bookstores put it in that section because they don't know where else to put it, but anyone - everyone - would like it. It has the time travel you're looking for, and also medicine, botany, history, war - it hits on everything you can think of.

I third Outlander, read it many years ago and loved it.

I cannot believe I didn't think of this one before: The Shining Girls! A time-travelling serial killer for the win. I read it in October. It's a bit of a mess, but still great for all that!

Andrew Constantinou - Can you tell me the author or Kindred? I searched on Amazon, and there are several books by that name.

I think Ms.Gabaldon has done an excellent job of imagining a *reason* that time travel would be possible. The ley lines of the earth, etc...

All of Connie Willis's time travel books, especially The Doomsday Book, Blackout and All Clear. (All Clear is a sequel to Blackout).

To Say Nothing of the Dog (Bantam Spectra Book) by Connie Willis is also a fun time travel read.

I don't know who wrote Kindred, but it was about a black lady who goes back in time to when there was slavery. Fabulous book.

I enjoyed Isaac Asimov's Pebble in the Sky, a mixture of time travel and science fiction.

Another combo of time travel and Science Fiction is The Number of the Beast by Heinlein. Unfortunately I don't think you can get it in Kindle format.
