Reset the router by unplugging it for a minute or two. Then reboot the Kindle.

Yes, your router is plugged in. Unplug it.

Does your Kindle connect to wish to WiFi at a friend's house or on a hotspot? Ours did, so issue would be with our router. Trying to update the router now

Regardless of the fact that other devices connect,
Restart both your router AND your modem by unplugging them for a few minutes. Plug the modem back in, then plug the router back in. Then restart your kindle. Then connect.

How was it resolved, Laura? Did AT&T replace your router?

Then, use your Fire? Or, your browser on your computer?

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 15, 2013 6:20:20 AM PDT
Nanny says:
Definitely can't use my Fire cause I can't get on Internet. That's the problem. Anyways my son in law is going to get me into my wifi router adm system to see what's going on. I may just be using the wrong password or I will just have to get a new one. Will update on here when I have an answer. Thank you all

My daughter's kindle touch won't connect to wifi either (it used to connect to our home wifi just fine). My kindle keyboard connects just fine, as do all our other devices. I tested hers on another wifi network and also couldn't connect there. I did a hard reset, that didn't help. Then I downloaded the most recent kindle update and installed it and it still wouldn't connect. I realize I'm going to have to try CS at this point since it seems like a problem with her individual kindle, especially since it worked fine our on home network when we first got it and the just stopped one day.

That worked for me. I was not able to connect wifi to my kindle but could with my iPad and iPhones but unplugging both my router and modem and I shut down kindle and it's connecting again. Thanks

There are zillions of threads in this forum about Kindles and Wifi problems. Every company and product has problems. When the problem keeps on happening with new model after new model, then it time for a tar and feather party down at company HQ. Rails, pitchforks, lanterns, guns loaded with silver bullets.
