On average how much do you spend monthly on books? During the month of March, I have spent $41.00

Nothing! Isn't it grand?? I very rarely spend any money on books. I usually watch for free books on Amazon and get the books I get free at my local library. I only spend money on a book if I really really want it and can't find it anywhere.

In March I have spent $117.00. In March I had several of my favorite authors release new books which have been pricey. I still have one to purchase that came out on Tuesday for $12.99. But that may carry over to April.

My family and I all have Kindles and between what my kids read and what I read, we have spent $65.93 on eBooks this month. I think that is a bit high for us, but I'll be I average $50+ a month...

$2 for March - I also depend on freebies (love Gutenberg as well as Amazon's many freebies!) and library books. The $2 was for an ILL request fee.

Books or ebooks, or both combined? If it is combined, then probably around $200 in March.

In March I spent $33.47 on books, and got 37 books.
In Feb I spent 30.59 on books, and got 19 books.
In Jan I spent 9.99 (a set of 5 books), got 2 more free
In Dec I spent 9.99, and got 3 books.

I should note that these are all e-books.

I got my kindle for Christmas and as you can see have found more and more free books as time has gone by. I also spent $11 on books for my son since February. In April my goal it to try to read some of the books I have gotten before paying any money for books for me (of course I'll download books for free). Although there are a couple of books that are really tempting me.

I usually spend around $50.00 per month. Lately with the price of ebooks going up it's been a little more. I have to say that recently I've actually bought a few paper books since they were cheaper than the ebooks. That's sad but what can you do?

The amount I spend monthly on books is going down (on purpose!). The first couple of months I had my Kindle, I allowed myself a $50 gift card for the month, and I usually ran out of money and month at just about the same time. Then the $50 lasted a little longer - maybe 6 weeks or so. After that happened a few times, I cut back on the gift card to $25, which also lasted about 6 weeks; the most recent GC was for $15, and I figure that should last me about 6 weeks too. I'm making a concerted effort to cut down and not buy every book I lay eyes on that is within my acceptable price range & sounds good. I'm trying to just get books that I REALLY like the sound of, not 'just because'. Right now, I have just over 100 books in my 'Already Read' collection vs. nearly 300 in the TBR pile. I simply don't need to acquire more books - even if they're free - unless I think they're just too good to pass up.

I think that I'll be happy if I can maintain a GC of $15 for approximatley 4-6 weeks, on the understanding that there will be an occasional 'splurge'!

I spent about 100 this month give or take but I did get one book that cost 14.99 and three that cost 12.99 but those are once off things, I have been spending between .99 - 2.99 per book. But this month has been a very book heavy month, even though I have about 400 books on my TBR pile...... I really have to get off of the websites and start reading what I bought instead of getting more lol

I usually spend around $100 a month, but that is changing. I have discovered Indie authors and expect to spend around $10 in April.

Looking at my spreadsheet I average about $50-60 per month. Reading is my only entertainment and extravagance most of the time and pretty much all my disposable income goes to books.

I've bought 24 books this year, ranging from 99 cents to $12.99. I've read 17 of them and am reading the 18th. The 6 unread books are, except for one, books that I got on limited time sales by the publishers for $2.99 or less and not considered priority reads. So at least I'm keeping up with what I'm buying, unlike when I went crazy when first owning my Kindle!

(I've also read some books I bought on sale last year, so total read for the year so far is quite a bit higher than 18.)

Thats around how much I spend.

What I do is buy myself a $100 GC and the next month I just replenish up to the $100. This month I added $40 so I spent $40.

It depends on if I have a lot of preorders in the month or if something grabs my eyes.

I get a $25 gift card and thats all I allow myself for the month. Some months I have extra depending on how long the books are, for example last month the book The Passage took me most of the month to read. I only get free stuff if its something I want to read like that James Patterson freebie a few months back. I have read a few good $2.99 books also. Mostly I pay around $7.99 to $9.99 and I am fine with that.

I had two of my favorite authors release books this month and they were agency model books so there for not cheap.

I have a cc I use just for book buying and last month the balance was 137.00. This month however it's already up to 240.00 and it doesn't close until the 20th of April. I probably won't buy anymore until I get that great little e-mail saying my statement is ready, that means that I can start charging for the next month! hahah My husband did buy me a Kindle for Christmas and he figured the $ amount would go down but I haven't seen any evidence of that yet. =)

Less than 4 dollars a month for me. I read a lot of freebies or classics.

$25, I know this because I started using an Amazon gift card to budget/manage my ebook addiction. Once that is gone, I use all the willpower in my body and STOP purchasing books for the month.

During March I picked up 127 ebooks, but please note I've only had my Kindle since mid Feb not even 2 full months so I picked up extras to get me started. My cost was $115.10. That breaks down to a cost of just about $.91 per book with free books balancing out more expensive ones. I only picked up I believe 3 maybe 4 DTBs, but I'm not sure of the cost of them (didn't keep track). For April I plan to budget $60 and for May $50; then I'll reevaluate figuring that I'll have had my Kindle for 3 full months + part of Feb and will have built up a solid base of books meaning from there on out I will probably be spending less. I use my Amazon Visa card for my 1 clicks and do enjoy building the reward points because it's kinda like double dipping.

I don't track it (although I should!) but if I had to guesstimate I'd say some months closer to $100 and some months more around $50. I do get some indie books and free books if I really want to read them (including some classics I want to revisit or haven't yet read); but otherwise I'll buy the $10 to $15 books.
