Could be your router. Could be your Kindle.

Try a power cycle of your router - pull the power cord from the wall for at least 30 seconds. Then plug it back in and wait a couple of minutes.

While waiting, hard reset your Kindle. Ensure Kindle is fully charged. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds (time it). If the Fire doesn't restart, press the power button one more time to restart. Wait until the home screen is fully loaded which may take a few minutes.

If this doesn't resolve the issue, take your Fire to a hot spot (coffee shop, library, McDonalds) and connect there. If you don't have a problem there, then the problem is with your network. If you have the same connection problem, then the problem is with your Fire and it's time to contact Kindle Support.

Kindle support - Click on help at the top and bottom of all Amazon pages. Click on the Contact Us button on the right of the next page. Answer the questions and the correct contact info is shown. I suggest using the phone for quickest troubleshooting.

When was the last time you updated the software on your router?

It could be your router, or your Kindle, or your Wi-Fi service. Try a faster speed Wi-Fi. It costs a bit more each month, but works better. I stepped up to a higher speed Wi-Fi before getting a Kindle, and it improved my TV streaming, and computer use. I bet it would help your Kindle use.

Erin, there is a BIG difference between WiFi speed and Internet speed. You can't upgrade WiFi speed without replacing the router and it has very little to do with TV streaming, etc. Internet speed has nothing to do with the issue here - connection to the router.

Also Erin, the OP was asking about connectivity issues, not speed.
