Question about bezel/backplate around Fire HDX 7"?

Hi, I just recently purchase a Kindle Fire HDX 7" (4G AT&T 16GB), and I was having a problem with the bezel/backplate not being (sealed?) onto the device correctly.

It's towards the top right of the Kindle, if holding it in portrait mode, with the charging port at the bottom. Pushing on the rubber backing causes a clicking noise, and you can visually see that it is loose.

It concerned me, so I started a chat with Amazon and they sent out a replacement device free of charge. Just received it today, and this Kindle has the EXACT same problem, except I might even say that it is a tad worse as the first one it was maybe about a 2" span that felt affected, whereas the replacement feels like 4"+ is loose. It also makes a louder click.

So my question is, is this a common problem with the Fire HDX? Has anyone else had this problem at all?

I don't mean to be a hassle, and I probably will avoid contacting Amazon about this again and just keep one of the two, and hopefully I won't notice it as much when it's in the case, but it's a little upsetting to me to have paid $200+ for a device that is not properly sealed together.

My HDX has a very slight "give" on the bottom left when held in that position, but no clicking. I also can't see that it's loose like you can with yours. I never noticed it until I took it out of its cover and pressed around the whole bezel to check for you.

Personally, I'd keep sending it back until I got one without those problems.

I never noticed it on my first one actually until I got the case (2 days later) and was attempting to put it in. Just as I was getting ready to stick it in I felt a click, and then did a check around the bezel and found it. Second one I checked right away and it's loose in the exact same area.

I can actually still here the click and push it in and out just as much when it's in my case. Probably because my case just clicks on the sides, and isn't one that slides slightly over the front, which would probably push it together and hold it so it's unnoticeable.

I just don't want to cause problems with Amazon and get banned or something for making too many requests for replacements, which is the main reason I don't want to keep sending it back. Especially if it's a common problem that I'm likely to keep getting with every Kindle I get from them.

I just checked my 7" HDX, and mine doesn't exhibit anything like what you describe. Sounds to me like you received two defective devices, and if it were me, I'd certainly contact Kindle CS again.

He did send out another one though, so hopefully third times the charm. I don't feel like I'm applying any huge amount of pressure to the screen, in fact, I can even feel and hear it clicking when I just pick up and am holding it from that corner.

Anyway, the replacement I noticed immediately after taking it out of the box, before even turning it on, so I don't see how it's anything I could've caused, and it was packaged well enough that it shouldn't have been damaged in shipping. The first one, of course, I didn't notice for two days, so I'm not 100% sure that it was present from the start, but I never dropped or did anything to the Kindle that should've caused it in that two days.

Here's hoping though. Seems like some of you have received flawless units, that's all I want.
