I am well aware that a statement like that is just asking for it-my intention! Us snarky types have been wandering aimlessly, hijacking random threads for too long now but I went to far with the last thread so I've decided to leave the snark out of it(the title anyway) Please join us for a snarkfest but keep in mind that it's considered bad manners to get snotty after being snarked at! The snark found here is a dying breed, it's all meant in good fun it just doesn't always sound like it-if someone's snark offends you, you probably didn't take that snark in the manner in which it was intended! Feel free to jump in and start something, just leave the downright insulting crap at home. We try to keep the stuff here safe for workplace perusal(the bots give us a hand with that) Invite your friends, it's BYOB! If the place is deserted check at hot! hot! hot! That's the erotica thread, our latest successful hijacking. A word of caution: don't feed the buttduck, he bites, same goes for PP! ~snort~D

I'm kind of thinking that everyone is just annoyed that the last 3 day weekend before T'giving is gone. I know I'm irritated. (Plus, I think the cranky shows more when our resident class clowns aren't here to intersperse a laugh here and there.)

Step one: Don't take yourself seriously
Step two: Don't take anyone else seriously
Step three: If it makes you laugh, it's probably snark.

(Others will define it as sarcasm or rudeness, but in here it's all about the fun part. It it gets too ugly, call 'em on it.)

(See Phillip Pearson for prime examples.)

ETA: Hasib, I've seen you be snarky. You're making fun aren't you? *goes off into corner to cry and sharpen knives*

I really like PPs posts. They usually make me laugh out loud.

I usually mess up the snark/funny when I try to hard. *Trying very hard not to try too hard*

don't know if this qualifies as snark but I do feel snarky
I was reading some doofus who thinks that the poor, unemployed and other " burdens on society" should not be allowed to vote. Uhh! is there some upside to the Dark Ages that I don't know about.

Hasib says:
The only upside I can think of is that stupid people likely died more quickly (earlier in life) than smart people. Unfortunately, even if it was 100% effective, smart people can still have dumb kids.

In reply to an earlier post on Sep 7, 2011 10:56:15 AM PDT
Wow. Better you reading that than me. I am pretty sure my head would have exploded. I wouldn't have had control of my mouth after that.

I mean if stupid, employed people can vote....

I was just as glad to come to work, yesterday. It seemed ALL of my kids' friends went away for Labor Day weekend, leaving my teenage daughter and my grade school son with NOTHING to do but pester me. You think TODDLERS are bad? How about when you go into the bathroom and close the door and someone wants to hold an ARGUMENT over the INANE with you while you're in there?

Reading? Pffft. I couldn't even pee in peace. ALL WEEKEND. We had a short respite when I commanded the troops to the outdoors to clean up the yard (which has been neglected during the long, long weeks of 95+ temps). That went okay ...until it started pouring rain. And then we were back to one or the other of them demanding interaction (what ever happened to "parallel play?!?" Toddlers rock.)

We watched a movie. We played Potato Head. We shot Nerf guns. We painted masks (paper plates). And STILL they clambored. (*whimper/crumple*)

At least it's quiet in my office.

Yeah, 'cause you sure contribute a lot these days. Slacker.

Hasib says:
Isn't that why they make duct tape? Rolled up socks make great gags (dirty, smelly ones work for repeat offenders).

I love my teenagers. You can actually hold intelligent conversations, when they deign to speak to you, and mine love to read. Life is good when being grounded from reading is an effective threat!

Oh great. Now I'm cranky too. I forgot that's our last 3 day weekend until Thanksgiving! Geez, want to kick my dog too?

I threatened to kick the dog. They just asked, "Then can we have a puppy?"
