Does anyone know if, or think, there will be another Kindle sale before Christmas. All of a sudden, my super hard to shop for child, has decided she wants a Kindle Fire...but she's 9...so I'd sure like to get it on sale. Heard it was on sale on Cyber Monday...but she hadn't made out her list yet...and I sure didn't think she'd want something like this!

I was suprised to see it on sale on Cyber Monday so my guess is no more sales, but then If you had asked me before Cyber Monday if it would go on sale I also would have said no so that shows how tuned in I am. :-)

I always like to buy from Amazon but...I have seen several deals in my area at Stores like Office Max, Staples, Best Buy etc. where they are offering a $20 store gift card with the purchase of the Fire. Not quite the same as a sale but if you are going to buy other stuff there in the future it is close.

I'm not sure there's a way to know for sure. You could order a Fire, not open it, and wait to see if it went cheaper. Order the cheaper one, and return the first one, maybe.

Amazon typically runs deals on devices that they are planning to do away with ;^)

Having had the 1st gen 7" and now 32 GB 7" and 8.9" HD Fires, I would recommend the 7" 32 GB for kids, just because of how much space apps and videos can take up--not to mention comics. My sons are 5 1/2, so their books are mostly those that contain color illustrations on every page at the moment. Those types of books take up WAY more space than the books without images, or images in grey scale. They've got hours of reading and educational play on each of their Fires--more than the 1 hour limited app access and unlimited book access uses up :^)
