I know I can write notes on a passage while reading a book- but say I wanted to type in a quick shopping list. How can I do this?

Get Notepad by 7 Dragons. It's a very useful tool.

I tried to get a copy of Notepad but it says "not available", this is probably due to not being in US.
Any ideas?

Items that are "Active" are not available outside the US, that is correct. Someone sent a blank piece of paper to their kindle and they were able to open it like a book and write notes on there. I haven't tried it.

there are other apps that do this. I have a free app called "color note" or "note" it is a little clunky, but beats writing on my hand.

Also- some items won't work on some versions of the Kindle. For example, I was getting the Not Available thing when trying to buy Notepad mentioned earlier for my Kindle touch. Apparently it doesn't work for the touch. Go figure.

@Iashonta: Most of the workbooks do not work properly. You can get a full refund within 7 days of purchase. Do that from the Actions menu next to the book title on the Manage Your Kindle page.
