How can I get the Kindle PaperWhite device name to appear in the connected client list of my Belkin N+ wireless router. It currently shows the host name as blank and is the only device that does that. The Kindle connects and works fine but I use the name for network management and troubleshooting.

Most router management screens will allow you to change the device name. I do that for most of my devices because 3 of us have the same Samsung phone.

Unfortunately, the device name is not configurable in this router. It reads the host name that is, or should be, broadcast by the devices. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hostname

PS56k says:
totally up to the device -
