"You need to send it back to Amazon to be repaired, and they usually just replace it."

Amazon does not repair Kindles, and last I checked, damage from dropping a Kindle is not covered by the warranty... They may offer the OP a discount on a replacement....

My Kindle has stopped working. What do I do now? Where could I get it repaired?

Contact Kindle customer service? That would be my guess; at least that is what I'd do. Who knows if or where you can get it repaired... you've not bothered to say anything about your problem. Depending on the problem, the cost of repair can make it impracticable.

Besides, there are probably not many people who know repair places in Bangalore.

The 'power' button does not work on my kindle. But the device turns on if I plug it to a PC. How can I get it fixed? Its out of warranty.

I suggest that you look for a local place that repairs electronics. Who knows... maybe you're lucky and you can get it repaired cheaply.

Amazon doesn't repair Kindles and there are no authorized Kindle repair facilities anywhere.

Not by Amazon. Check with local electronics repair shops in your area.
