. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . * Question of the Day * . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

If you could have your choice of the following services for free, which would you choose if you could only have one for an indefinite period of time?

a) maid
b) personal chef
c) launderer
d) landscaper
e) husbandman - no, not the spouse type (^V^)

Thanks cat for the start and for taking Thursday, also!

Happy Birthday Kindlana!

Answer to question of the day: free maid. Although if Handyman were an option, I would have taken that.

Death by Didgeridoo (Jamie Quinn Mystery)
Reluctant lawyer, Jamie Quinn, still reeling from the death of her mother, is pulled into a game of deception, jealousy, and vengeance when her cousin, Adam, is wrongfully accused of murder. It's up to Jamie to find the real murderer before it's too late. It doesn't help that the victim is a former rock star with more enemies than friends, or that Adam confessed to a murder he didn't commit.

A preview of Jamie Quinn's next adventure, "The Case of the Killer Divorce," can be found at the end of the book.

Happy Birthday, Kindlana!

I'd agree with Tip and take the maid service, but I'd rather have all of them!!

Hope everyone had a good weekend! I was reading posts off and on, but didn't have time to post anything myself. I did enjoy the jokes and the strange words of English language.

I would take the maid too. Already have a personal chef - DH does all the cooking. The others I can do without...

@ small.black.cat

Thank you for starting us off today -hope that it is a good day for you (when you get there)

Question of the day, well a maid suggests someone to 'wait' on me (wouldn't want that), but perhaps if it could encompass someone who would do my cleaning then that is what I would choose, I just hate housework - I can but don't cook, laundry is not such a hassle for me, I have already had the backyard landscaped LOL and e) is N/A for me.

Good morning to everyone.

Thank you for the start cat.

I would certainly have the maid ... but my maid would also be doing the laundry and many of the maids here do the cooking as well:)

I'm guessing that the husbandman is kind of like a handyman? I could use one of them too!

Good morning Red. I'm presuming you are going in to work today ...at last...after a wonderful long week-end.

We have a chillier day today with a bit of a drizzle. I never like driving in this sort of weather but the trip in to work was without any problems.

Beginning of the month blues for me ...lots of work to get through.

Morning Sally
Yes you are right, work again today and my co-worker says that she is now feeling like her normal self, so she will be there today too, but the start of a month is not tough for us, only a little cleaning up from end of the month stuff, and then just back to normal.
I am hoping that the days off have helped my boss with regards to his back problems.

Sorry to hear it is drizzly weather for you, I can only report beautiful clear blue skies and summery temperatures - I love summer

English?

A Russian woman married an English gentleman and they lived happily ever after. The poor lady was not very proficient in English, but did manage to communicate with her husband.
The real problem arose whenever she had to shop for groceries.

One day, she went to the butcher and wanted to buy chicken legs...
She didn't know how to put forward her request, so, in desperation, clucked like a chicken and lifted up her skirt to show her thighs...
Her butcher got the message and gave her the chicken legs.

Next day she needed to get chicken breasts,
again she didn't know how to say it,
so she clucked like a chicken and
unbuttoned her blouse to show the butcher her breasts...
The butcher understood again and gave her some chicken breasts.

On the 3rd day, the poor lady needed to buy sausages.
Unable to find a way to communicate this,
she brought her husband to the store...
(Please scroll down.)

What were you
Thinking?
Her husband speaks English... hellooo!

It is really stormy here..
One weather site said that it has rained for over 120 min.
And it is coming down hard...

Not as mush as Plays though..

Happy birthday, Kindlana! I hope you have a delightful day.

More congratulations to Sandy. Enjoy the run of good fortune. I hope the weather calms down. I'm looking at a 40 percent chance of rain, so I don't know if Magnolio Palomino and I will get our exercise today or not. His trainer is scheduled to come out, if the rain holds off. Of course, the greatest chances are during the half hour before she is scheduled to arrive and a half hour after his lesson would end.

Mieko*, where are you?

Cat, thanks for starting -- especially since this seems to be the only time we hear from you right now! You remain in my thoughts and prayers.

I'd opt for the maid. I'm so far behind in my housework, so I could use the extra help. Plus, I really hate mopping floors, while I really like clean, shiny floors. With brick in most of my home, that means lots of mopping and polishing. I don't need a personal chef -- I love to cook, but I'm not even cooking much since I'm really trying to lose weight. Laundry isn't that big a deal, and I can always ask the maid to help with the ironing. (Besides, many maids here do the laundry, if one wants them to. I'm picky. I usually don't.) And landscaping is something that I don't really need but can do myself anyway. Although, I could use some muscle for a few jobs I'd like to tackle . . .

It's hard to get as much rain as we have had . . . I'd gladly share the wealth with those areas experiencing droughts. Our forecast calls for a good chance today and a better chance tomorrow. And the ground is already plenty wet.
