You forget one thing that changed. The first generation Fire had flash built into it. Adobe stopped supporting Android devices in August 2012. Any Android tablet after that including the new Fire models do not have Flash.

If you side load a flash capable browser then side load the flash.apk file then you would have your streaming videos back.

If you are not happy with it, then return it. That's the whole reason behind the Amazon 30 day return policy.

I don't see what you expect other customers to do for you nor your reason for posting.

Never mind! I found a workaround. Go here:

No reason to be angry about a post inviting comments, Vickie. This is a place to be helpful. Thanks.

Bixillaria--thanks a million! This was exactly what I needed to do. I appreciate it very much.

If you had "invited comments", that is one thing. Stomping feet and threatening to return the unit is another thing. JMO

By the way, I did not express anger.

So...why blame Amazon for what Adobe chose to do?

L., just to let you know, I also use Maxthon on my Kindle Fire HD. That's an's my preferred browser, so I have used it on both my 1st generation Kindle Fire and my HD. I did install the Flash driver as well.

I find the Kindle Fire HD to be a much better tablet for me. I use a Bluetooth keyboard, and that is an important option for me when writing things which are somewhat longer.

Thanks, Bufo. Maxton is great. However, it does not work on Kindle HD tablet. I contacted Maxthon and asked if they would consider making a compatible version, but it looks like Dolphin will work.

Yes, I basically like the HD. I am learning as I go. Thanks again.

Bufo Calvin says:
Actually, it does...since I use it constantly on my Kindle Fire HD. :)

It does crash sometimes, but as you probably know, that's been an issue with Maxthon in the past (although they recently made the PC version much more stable).

What they may have meant to say is that it isn't in the Amazon Appstore for the Kindle Fire HD, and that's correct.

I have version installed on my Kindle Fire HD 8.9".

LOL! I didn't know. I didn't know then, as I do now, that you can download apps that aren't in the Kindle library. I had the Maxthon app, which I'd gotten for my old kindle, and Amazon didn't allow me to download it to the tablet. :)
