Does anybody know how many books the new Kindle Fire holds? Roughly? Does not say in the description of what it can do.

Bixillarla says:
It holds alot.

The Paperwhite is 2gb and can hold approx 1100 ebooks. The Fire starts at 16gb, 8 times the space, so it will hold approx 8800 ebooks if you have nothing else on it.

If you get the larger memory fire it will hold even more. You will have more than enough space for your book collection.

More books than you can read in a life time although you probably wouldn't want to use Kindle Fire for reading 300 pages book due to eye strain.

Speaking of how many the kindle fire holds...how do u delete books? I hit the "remove from Device" option and the cover of the book is still there.

MommaCat says:
Keep in mind that all that storage space includes apps, games and music as well as books...

But also remember that you can keep Amazon purchases on the Cloud. No need to keep them on the device. Keep it on the Cloud and your space is limitless.

MommaCat says:
Is it there 'active'? Or there in your Archives? There's a difference. In archives it isn't taking up space because it isn't actually on the device.

Can you change the font size on the Fire?

dee lowe says:
MommaCat it must be in the achieves because if I press on the book I asked to remove from device it comes back up, after its downloaded.

MommaCat says:
Then that means you successfully removed it.

Deleting the book completely is another issue. You never get it back.

Then go to Manage Your Kindle, find the book, and click on actions.

Delete the book. It will ask you if you're sure. If you are...,go ahead!

The book is gone forever.

And glad I could help : )

Sorry hate to sound like a total newbie, i can't find anywhere where it says Manage My Kindle.

Dee, if you are logged into amazon, you can go to Your Account and scroll down to the Your Digital Content (or something like that) & find the Manage Your Kindle link to click on.

In the alternative, if you just want to remove the cover from your carousel, just hold the cover down until a 3 option menu comes up, and "remove from carousel" is one of the options. Select that option & the cover will go away.

I think the original KF product page said 8,000+ books, but you should use the free cloud storage anyway. One toddler could accidentally wipe out your entire collection.
