T. Cook says:
If it has 4G, it will not have 3G.

Dragi Raos says:
Pedro, do you see that "4G LTE" in Meya's link?

Wouldn't a 4G LTE device fall back to 3G if that was all that was available?

Pedro Tedim says: "I know."

Then you already know the answer. The 9" model has a version with it but the 7" model does not.

Pedro Tedim says: "Nowhere in that page says if it will or not have 3G.."

If it is not in the specs (which it is not) then it is telling you it does not have it. Same as always. Shesh... Do you need them to explicitly tell you everything that it doesn't have (which would be everything in the world that isn't in the specs). It doesn't have 3G. It doesn't have an SD card slot. It doesn't have a CF card slot. It doesn't have a microSD slot. It doesn't have a firewire port. It doesn't have a Lightningbolt port. it doesn't have a blueray drive. It doesn't have a back facing camera. It doesn't have a kitchen sink.. etc. etc. etc. >_<

I am not sure. The latest iPad didn't here in Oz after it was discovered our 4G would not be able to be picked up by it.
LOL Apple was fined over $2 million for false advertising.

Yes. Fire has 10 band $G transceiver that can fall back all the way to 2G GPRS.

Dragi Raos says:
From the product page:

"4G Connectivity: 4G LTE 10 band wireless modem with HSPA+, HSDPA, and EDGE/GPRS fallback"

T. Cook says: "3G and 4G require different hardware, so the device would have to be supplied with both seperate pieces of hardware to be able to switch, unless they choose to put the hardware in it for both."

Single chip multiband/multimode transceivers have been available for a while.

Just one example => http://www.fujitsu.com/us/news/pr/fsa_20120223.html

Leticia, you've posted to an old thread. You can buy the Fire HDX 7" or the Fire HDX 8.9" with 4G capability, but you need a monthly data plan from either Verizon or AT&T.

This is not a chat room, it's a user forum. You won't get immediate responses.

This is a forum, not a chat room. In addition, instead of starting your own post, you pulled up an old one.

As was answered in the very first response of this thread, only the 4G lte has 4G capabilities. You have to buy a plan through AT&T or Verizon to use the 4G.

There are no 3G Fires.

Ok do you know a tablet with 3G??

The Artist says:
If you mean FREE 3G, the answer is no, there are none.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 5, 2013 3:08:57 PM PST
No one is going to give you free 3G on a tablet device.

If you would tell us what it is you want to do, you would get more helpful answers.

If you just want to read, there is a Paperwhite Model with 3G that doesn't require a data plan. But it is not a tablet.
