Has anyone noticed that in the past several months that the quality and availability of books in the lenders library has dramatically decreased?

No.

Have you noticed Amazon is also giving Prime members a free book each month?

No. But then I haven't been searching. I have over a years worth of KOLL books in a Wishlist and I just choose from that every month.

What data do you have to support your claim?

Ken Reich says:
It seems that when I open the link to the lenders library the majority of books available are romance novels. When I refine my search to subjects that I am interested in; I am brought back to a list outside the lenders library

It just seems to me that most of the available books are just cheap romance novels

Ken, while quality is subjective, I can address availability of books in the KOLL (Kindle Owners' Lending Library): that's one of the things I regularly track.

Grr, the site ate my post.

I don't think you are searching correctly.

From Books>Prime>Kindle, you get this page -

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_p_n_feature_browse-b_mrr_2?rh=n%3A283155%2Cp_85%3A2470955011%2Cp_n_feature_browse-bin%3A618073011&bbn=283155&ie=UTF8&qid=1383489364&rnid=618072011

Select genres in left-hand column to narrow your results.

Maybe you should contact the publisher(s) of the eBooks you want & ask them to make them available for the KOLL.
