Saving email draft also sends copy to recipient

Hello,

I'd like to report a bug. It seems that saving an email draft (using the pre-installed email client and a gmail account) also sends a copy to the recipient.

Let me be clear. A draft is saved but that draft is also emailed to the recipient you have in your To: field.

Very dangerous if you ask me.

I just used mine...Yahoo, through the ap loaded on the Fire. I tapped "save to drafts" and that is what it did. The email wasn't sent.

I just drafted a reply email, thinking I might change it later today before I send it. I hit "save draft" and my kindle fire saved it. My problem is that I can't seem to know where to find it. Any instructions for a neophyte?

i just experienced this w/ gmail WITHOUT even doing anything to save a draft. I was writing my 1st email on the Fire, then sent it, and on my PC i see it sent out 3 emails-in-progress to all recipients. WTH?

Maybe it's gmail's new format going crazy instead of a bug with the Fire? I was using gmail on my computer a day ago, and it wiped out an email I was still writing (nothing in drafts, so maybe it sent it) and threw me out of the mail system.

Just noticed the same thing. I'm a pretty compulsive draft saver, unfortunately. Didn't mean to email bomb my friend on Christmas Day. :/

always fun to blame someone else, but this is something to do w/ how Fire is communicating via IMAP. My iPhone isn't doing this, using the same IMAP connection w/ the same gmail account.

ANYONE know how to fix this? I basically can't write emails on my Fire.

I tried this with my Gmail on the Fire. It went to my drafts folder and did not get sent just like I wanted.

As a temp solution until it's fixed, I'd suggest leaving the TO field blank until your email is finalized. Maybe that'll help.

Just sent 30 emails to a recent contact made at a networking event... Never emailing from the kindle again. Any word on a fix?

I had the same problem - emails in draft form were sent every time gmail automatically saved the message. VERY annoying bug when I'm in the middle of a contract negotiation and am sending ALL my revised drafts out.

I just sent two unfinished emails (one, thankfully, looked finished) to my graduate program because of this bug about my interview into the program. PLEASE FIX IT. It is EXTREMELY unprofessional. This is not how you run a business. I am beyond upset, and hope this electronic error doesn't impact my chances in the interview process. Amazon, this is unacceptable.

Try writing your message first in either a word processor or a note program and then copy and paste to the email when you are ready to send it.

All these "suggested solutions" are simply bandaids to an unacceptable bug. This is embarrassing and needs to be solved right way. Amazon, you have never let me down but this glitch is enough to cost my customer loyalty. If you want your product to be competitive with the ipad or even the blackberry in the work place, this just won't do. I am advising each and all of my colleagues to not use the fire for email until further notice.

I have my Yahoo email on my Kindle Fire and have never had an accident with it.
I had 2 G-Mail accounts and for several reasons, closed them. Google, the electronic spy company isn't getting MY personal mail!!!

While I agree that the bug needs to be fixed, Amazon obviously never intended the Fire to be a competitor in the workplace.

Happened to me twice with Gmail. The second time I did not save any drafts but the email client seems to automatically save drafts which caused partial emails to be sent. I won't use the Fire email client again for sending/replying. Can always use the mobile web version of Gmail instead. Is there a better email client for Kindle that works like it is supposed to?

Anyone? Does the second generation suffer the same problem?

I had a similar problem. I drafted an email, saved it. The next morning, I connected wifi and suddenly my draft is gone. No where to be found. It wasn't sent, it wasn't trashed, it wasn't anywhere. Logged onto Gmail through computer, and it's not in there either. Does anyone know where it might "hide" in the kindle fire?

I'm having the same problem - using gmail - when I am typing a reply (don't even save as a draft) it sends a partial reply - makes me look so stupid. It's as if when the Fire tries to auto-save a draft, it also sends it. If I type a lengthy reply, when I look back at what I sent, it may have sent 3-4 partial replies. I hate this. Initially I thought I had accidentally hit send, but as I use my Fire more, I realize that it is happening every time I send email with it.
Is there a fix for this?

Have the same problem, and would love to have an answer.
