I just bought 2 kindle fires for my 4 year olds and wish to DL and setup each the same. I use my Amazon account for both but I can't see a way to copy the games/apps from one to the other.

These are just free ones like Angry Birds and such...

Thanks for any help

You don't "copy" the game apps. You go to Manage Your Kindle page and send the apps to the proper device. This only works providing the Kindles are registered to the same account as you purchased the apps with.

If I go to the manage my apps and then the action drop down list, I do not get the download & transfer option available.

Both devices do show up and are registered to the same account.

You can send books from the MYK page, but for apps, you need to install directly on each device. Tap 'Apps' at the top of the screen, then 'Cloud', then tap each app that you want to install.

Thanks Ann. That is what I have found so far to be true.

Even using the copy from Kindle Fire to Computer to other Fire seems to not allow apps/games, at least using the tool I DLed for my MAC.

If anyone sees a way other than manually installing each app, I would appreciate if you share the information:)

Actually ran into another problem, I can't download to two different devices from the same account. It says that I have already purchased this game and to please find it in My Apps.

Which brings me back to not being able to get to the download and Transfer option in there for games...

It appears their menus and/or options aren't updated for apps/games, only music, books, and videos.

You can download to two devices from the same account. Download from the Cloud tab on each device. If you're seeing a message that you already purchased the game, it sounds like you're selecting the app from the appstore instead.

You can only install apps individually, on each device. Most Kindle content cannot be transferred from one device to another or installed in bulk.

I want to transfer my Angry Birds game history from my broken Kindle to my new Kindle. I've tried to retrieve it from the cloud, but the history doesn't transfer even though when I check the game stored on the cloud the games history is there.

Transferring a game is not an option. I do have two Kindles registered to me in my name, a Kindle Fire and a larger Kindle Fire HD. Review it, View order details, Your in-app items and, deleting it are the only options. Why isn't transfer to your other Kindle an option?

I am hooked on Candy Crush Saga and want to transfer my game status (complete through level 62) from an old Fire to a new Fire. Is there any way that can be done or do I have to start all over on the new Fire? I have purchased dozens of in game boosters and hope to not have to buy them again. I also have other games I'd like to not have to start over on on the new Fire.

your best option is to sync it to a facebook account, then when you start it on another device log on using the FB account and the game will sync back to the device, all data is saved

No one has found a way to transfer or save game status. I haven't heard anyone discussing saving In-App purchases to another device. I would guess that is an Amazon question since you are making the purchase from them. The game developer may receive some of that purchase. I would suggest you inquire of Amazon CS (click on "Help" at the top of this page) about the In-App purchases.

I purchased Minecraft PE on my Kindle Fire. Can that game be copied to my PC or iphone? Or do I have to purchase it again?

In reply to an earlier post on Mar 17, 2014 4:39:40 PM PDT
Peggy: Your Fire uses a different operating system from both the PC and the iPhone. It won't run on them. You'll have to get the version that works on each of them.

In reply to an earlier post on Mar 17, 2014 4:41:26 PM PDT
Do you know what version that is?

How does one transfer a library of books from one Kindle to a new one? I just bought a paperwhite Kindle which should arrive tomorrow, and need to get my books from the old one to the new one.

In reply to an earlier post on Mar 17, 2014 4:59:25 PM PDT
You don't transfer content between devices. What you do is register the new PW to the same Amazon account as the old one and do a sync. The titles of the books on the account will appear under the cloud (cloud on PW = archive on older ones). Tap a title and it will download. Repeat as needed.

This has no effect whatsoever on the older one. You can keep it and use both. Books can be downloaded to either or both. You can also do a factory re-set on the old one, then sell it, give it away, donate it - whatever you want.

Peggy: No, I don't. You could use Google to see if there is a version for Windows for your PC and for the Apple operating system for your iPhone.

I need help please?? My daughter's Kindle Fire stopped working. It will no longer take a charge. I called Amazon and they were great and sent a new one. The problem is she has been playing Mindcraft and says she had a wonderful world that she worked hard on. With the new Kindle she has to start from scratch. Is there any way to transfer her old apps to her new kindle with the progress she has on her old Kindle? Or is she SOL and has to start all over?

In reply to an earlier post on Mar 23, 2014 9:17:06 AM PDT
Unless the app publisher stores the data on their servers, she is SOL, unfortunately.

You can do it!! I did, and it works. Here are two important AK posts that explain it:

David L. Runyan says:
The method I describe above worked for us... not only for Minecraft but for a few other games as well. The Minecraft worlds are located in "\com.mojang\minecraftWorlds" on the Kindle Fire. All I did was copy the entire Kindle directory from the old Kindle Fire into a new folder on my laptop, then after downloading Minecraft onto the new Kindle Fire, copy the entire folder called "minecraftWorlds" from the old Kindle Fire (from the new folder you created on your computer) onto the new Kindle Fire into the folder "\com.mojang\". Hope that's clear enough!

James Griffin says:
Transferring the "\com.mojang\minecraftWorlds" to the PC is easy, yet to tranfer the games to a brand new Kindle can be a problem. The new Kindle will not have a "games " folder and the new kindle has trouble accepting this new folder or parts of the folder that's on the PC (don't know if this is because my son's folder was too big) . To get around this have someone create a new world in the new kindle. Shut the new kindle off and restart the new kindle. Now link the new kindle to the PC and a games folder will be present, Transfer the files on the PC to the new kindle. Then it works fine. Now I have a happy son:)
