I had to talk w/ several different people, until I got to the Kindle Specialist. He said that if an eBook says Kindle Unlimited, it will also be available for the KOLL.

I asked all the questions that I have seen on the forum - he was so patient. LOL!

If you have Prime KOLL & Kindle Unlimited, you still get the borrow 1 KOLL a month + you get the 10 unlimited at a time (unlimited a month). Which is not really all that important, but it does mean that once you hit the 10 mark & don't want to delete one to get an 11th, you can use your KOLL for that.

You do not have to have (Prime) KOLL to get Kindle Unlimited.

I think I asked him more than that, but my mind is trying to absorb everything - if I think of something else, I will post it.

Beth says:
That does not totally agree with what we are seeing. At this point there seem to be some publishers (open road for example) that are KU but not KOLL. Possibly that will change.

example- Frederica (Regency Romances)

That's what I thought, but I couldn't think of any eBooks that I would know for sure are that way.

It was his 1rst day back after a couple days back & had to read up on some of the info he gave me.

I suspect that even the kindle specialists will need time to absorb the new information. I know no one at Amazon so do not know if they have CS training before they roll out a new service or just a memo.

Did you mean Open Road?

If not can post the link to the one you mean? Because the one I posted isn't in Kindle Unlimited or the KOLL,from what I can tell.

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 21, 2014 9:17:10 AM PDT
Yes, he even said that it was going to take some time and they are changing things - like Kindle Unlimited is going to be part of the KOLL (or vice verso), but you still will be able to get KU if you don't have Prime. Sounded like a hot mess. LOL!

Beth says:
No, I meant the publisher Open Road has over 4200 books on KU that do not appear to be KOLL

eta and maybe given your last post I should say not KOLL yet.

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 21, 2014 9:19:11 AM PDT
Well.. that is true for SOME books but not ALL books.

the following are KU books but NOT KOLL:

Jeremy Thatcher, Dragon Hatcher (Magic Shop Book Book 2)
The Wyverns' Treasure (Nathanial Fludd, Beastologist)
The Sign of the Beaver
Okay for Now
Bluish
The Moffats
The Lemonade Crime (The Lemonade War Series Book 2)

The Life of Pi is KU but not KOLL. Diary of a Wimpy Kid and The Great Santini are a couple more examples.

Keep posting more of these - I couldn't provide an example when I called - the more examples I have the better, because I will call them back.

ETA: I am like a dog with a bone about this, because searching for available KOLL titles on my Kindle is virtually impossible for me - my vision just makes it too hard.

Here is one for your list
Bite Me (The Pride Series Book 9)

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 21, 2014 9:47:52 AM PDT
Yeah, I'm on the phone w/ them right now - this lady keeps trying to tell me the benefits of the KOLL & KU - I already know those things - I just want to know how to find KOLL eBooks on my computer - I have told her this 5 or more times already.

Sorry, my frustration level is getting to me. LOL!

I just have the search results bookmarked on my computer.

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_p_n_feature_browse-b_mrr_2?rh=n%3A283155%2Cp_85%3A2470955011%2Cp_n_feature_browse-bin%3A618073011&bbn=283155&rnid=618072011

After I narrow them down to the genre I want that month I scroll through the results to find an interesting title then go to my kindle to find the title in the store.

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 21, 2014 10:06:32 AM PDT
Yeah, I just want the prime logo back so if i see an eBook I want I know right away if it's available on the KOLL.

I know, it's a lot to ask, but it made life so much easier. =)

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 21, 2014 10:09:21 AM PDT
the prime logo is still there on books eligible for KOLL (at least on my devices and computer)

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 21, 2014 10:22:38 AM PDT
flipoid says:
You just have to go to the book's product page to see if it has the "Prime" logo. Are you able to adequately see the information on the actual product page using your Kindle? If not, I can understand your frustration. (-:

But, what do you do when you find an ebook that is in the KOLL? Do you put it on a wish list, or do you go to your Kindle and search for it since you know already it's one of the books you can borrow?

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 21, 2014 10:23:05 AM PDT
Not on my computer. =(

I use Firefox - which browser are you using?

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 21, 2014 10:24:50 AM PDT
It doesn't show up on the list - you now have to go to each book's page to find it.

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 21, 2014 10:25:28 AM PDT
No, I can't read the product page on my Kindle.

I have a KOLL wishlist, when I go to get a KOLL I go to my wishlist, find the one I want for that month & type it into my Kindle.

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 21, 2014 10:26:46 AM PDT
firefox .... and just checked on IE and Safari ..... all three still show the prime logo right next to the price of a book that is KOLL

Soy Sauce for Beginners is both KOLL and KU .... I see both

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 21, 2014 10:27:07 AM PDT
I never looked at the list - I search for eBooks I want & could just see the Prime logo - that is no longer on the product page on my computer.

Am I using the wrong browser to be able to see it?

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 21, 2014 10:27:44 AM PDT
Beth says:
On each book product page next to the kindle price is a check mark and the word Prime. I use firefox. It is a PITA since you do have to open each book product page to see it. And it is orange and turquoise so not the best colors for limited vision. Though better than grey.

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 21, 2014 10:28:08 AM PDT
Nope, just the price & KU - no Prime logo.

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 21, 2014 10:29:43 AM PDT
The Prime logo no longer shows for me in Silk or Chrome on the product pages since I joined KU.

If I log out, I can see the Prime logo on product pages.
