I have a kindle keyboard awaiting delivery of a Paperwhite. I have a beach holiday chalet on a site with an expensive pay as you go password to log on, wifi sys. There is a 3G mast just outside the site, I have a contract with the provider. I have great problem trying to force 3G when the kindle is receiving the wifi signals. I have to press Alt EQQ several times before it switches to 3G, can take a long time. Will I have the same problem with the Paperwhite?

If you never connect to Wi-Fi it will default to the 3G connection.

It won't as I said. In spite of the very strong 3G signal. This is at SeaLevel as well, well a few metres above. Lots of Alt EQQ's needed.
