Help--my kindle fell on a tile floor --the screen cracked and now it doesn't work at all (Kindle Fire). If I get a new one, can all of my books be transferred onto it?? Are they stored in the 'cloud'? is it hard to transfer my books, etc?

wordsmith - You just need to register your new Kindle to the account to which your broken Kindle is registered. Your content will be in your Cloud ready to download after you've connected wirelessly.

Just to point out, any content (ebooks, music, movies, apps, etc) that you purchased from Amazon will be stored on the Amazon cloud and you can easily download that to your new Kindle once you register it to your account. The only things that would not be stored on the Amazon cloud would be anything that you may have put on the your Kindle from a different source other than Amazon. Perhaps things you downloaded off the internet and transferred to your Kindle via the USB cable or maybe pictures or music transferred over that way. Those will not be stored on the Amazon cloud. Or, any apps or maybe free public domain ebooks, etc, things you got from a different source other than Amazon. Those things are not stored on the Amazon cloud and would be lost when you switch Kindles.
