How do I access my Kindle Clippings on my PC or Mac?

From Section 8.2 in your user manual:

"Transferring Your Clippings
Your clippings are stored in a file called "My Clippings.txt," which is located in the "documents" directory. If you want to copy the clippings from your Kindle to your computer so you can edit them, e-mail a passage to a friend, or just archive your clippings, you can drag and drop the "My Clippings.txt" file onto your computer. Clippings and other annotations are described in more detail in Chapter 3."

The only works if you don't turn off annotation back up (in the Settings), and only works for Amazon books. It is, however, real clever for Amazon books as it separates the clipping BY BOOK... whereas My Clippings.txt is in the order you clipped or highlighted or annotated, mish mash.

You answered your own question. Online annotations are only available for Kindle books.

You can copy your My Clippings file to your computer if you want to be able to access them on your computer.

Thanks the Artist, yes, I realised my mistake and deleted the post. I guess what I was saying was I *wish* all my clippings from personal docs were available online - or in any other format than the dog's breakfast that Amazon provides through the .txt file available to users.

Can any Mac users provide insight on an equivalent to the My Clippings.txt file? I may be wrong but this appears to be a windows only file. Have searched in vain for it on my Mac's hard drive.
