The only kindle which deletes all books from it upon deregistration is the Fire. However, it is against Amazon TOS to give or sell a kindle with books on it from another account.

Catherine, I'm not sure what you are asking. The books belong to the account. When you change the account the Kindle is registered to, you can no longer download any books from the old account. All the books downloaded prior to the registration change will stay on the Kindle until deleted. In most cases you can still read them until you delete them.

Mary Ellison says:
The only reason I can think of for wanting to do that is that the device doesn't belong to you to begin with, so I'll not help you with this. Talk to the Amazon Kindle support team.

Cassie Anne says:
I can think of several reasons for wanting to switch between accounts. Some people maintain individual/personal accounts as well as joint accounts.

In fact, we suggest this to people who want to register their children's Kindles to the family account, yet don't necessarily want their children to have access to certain titles.

It is against Amazon's rules to sell or give away a Kindle with Amazon content on it.
