Does any one know how to fix my problem?

When I try to open the app, it shows the initial page, the blue one with a kid under a tree, and then immediately closes... It bugs me because it's my 3rd. re- installation and this doesn't seem to be fixing anything

thanks in advance

Have you upgraded to WinPhone 7.5?

Have you contacted Kindle support? Click on help at the top of the page and then the contact us button on the next page.

I find the easiest fix for Windows problems is to throw the device against the wall a few times. :)

I will not do that, but thanks for the advice...

I don't mean this as an insult, but how anyone who has used a PC in the past 25 years can entrust Microsoft with the operating system for their telephone is beyond me.

I can't stand that interface personally. That is why I will never get Windows 8 either.

It is an issue with the Amazon Kindle app. About a hundred of the latest reviews for the app on the marketplace complain of this same issue. Let's hope Amazon gets around to fixing this real quick.

Yes please fix now. Since every review of the Kindle app on WP7 currently rate it as a 1, given it crashes and exits, the average rating is dropping like a stone.

I seem to have corrected that on my new Lumia 920. Here's how I did it:

1) uninstall kindle app
2) reinstall
3) re-register your device/account
4) download one of your archived books
5) open the book

Once you have opened an eBook, the reader seems to behave. I hope it works for you as it did me.

Yes, this worked for me also. Thanks a lot.

Probably this should indicate to Amazon also what the real problem is.

I'm having this same problem on my HTC radar. Kindle app opens, shows the opening page, then promptly closes. The only way I can manage to use it is if I uninstall, re-install, re-register, un-archive, and then immediately read a book. However, I have to do this EVERY SINGLE TIME I open the app! Insane! Any word on a longer term fix?
(I tried downloading directly from Amazon as well as from the Marketplace, same product, same problem.)
UPDATE!!! (Yes, less than an hour later) I just went into the Marketplace to see if I could rate this app and saw that there was an update available. And it works!!! I closed and opened it 4 times in a row, no problems. HOORAY! Good job Amazon, I will now be purchasing my ebooks from you, rather than BN since you won the app for windows race!
