kindle book credit from publishers' legal settlement with amazon

Just received a message from Amazon about a publishers' legal settlement. We kindle owners are expected to receive an amount ranging from $.30 to $1.32 for ebooks we purchased between April 2010 and May 2012. Great! However, I do have questions, because "manage my kindle" doesn't indicated either the price I paid or the publisher of the book.
*** I am assuming that book credit will be received from only the three mentioned publishers--Hachette, Simon and Schuster and Harper Collins. Will Amazon give us some way to check which of our purchases are from these ?
**Prices do change and the current price for a book may or may not be what I paid for it. Will this be made available?

**The final settlement is next year. How long after settlement will it be before book credit information is available and, after that, when can we use it?

Thanks!

That would make you one of the "other side".

I'm too apathetic to be on a "side". It's mildly interesting, nothing more. Perspective on the important things in life and all that... blah blah blah...

Interesting - my partner got such an email but I didn't. Guess I inadvertently avoided overly priced books from these particular publishers. Nice to see some definitive action on behalf of the customers though.

Bryan I got one, but it automatically went to my spam folder. No worries, the letter said there is nothing you need to do.

What's funny is that people on this forum were saying "there is no lawsuit, blah blah blah".

But yeah, I got it too.

Who said there was no lawsuit?

It was in the book forum which I now stay away from because the people over there have issues.

You mean the (Amazon) Kindle Book Forum? MOA 2?

That forum had good possibilities until a few SPA's turned it into a war zone - war of idiocy. Can't spam with books, so let's spam with gibberish. Their "revenge." We'll make people sorry they don't buy our books, by golly, in one way or another.

I bought over a 1000 books in that covered time frame. It will be interesting to see how that shakes out when the settlement is finally approved. I am a bit of a statistics nerd to it will be fun to see exactly how many books I bought from the so called "big six" or at least the publishers who are settling vs independent or self publishers. I suspect my credit will end up being less than $100 when all is said and done. Not much for me but when you multiply that by the 100's of thousands, if not millions of readers, that the publishers and Apple conspired to defraud this is going to be very expensive. Of course the biggest winners here will be the lawyers in all likelihood.

In reply to an earlier post on Oct 13, 2012 11:05:11 AM PDT
The suit only pertained to five of the big six. Random House wasn't part of the collusion and will therefore be rewarded with pricing carte blanche forever more.

And Apple and...Penguin ? - haven't settled yet. I may get $5 back max, I'm thinking. I pay no attention to the publishers of the books I want, I just buy 'em.

In reply to an earlier post on Oct 13, 2012 11:14:07 AM PDT
The irony, though, is that Random House prices have been increasing a lot, including sales to public libraries which have increased as much as two hundred percent or more since the filing of the suit.
