The program doesn't NEED to be anything. It is what it is. Take it or leave it.

You are complaining that someone is offering you free books, but they aren't the free books that interest you, so you're going to throw a public temper tantrum about it? This is an odd decision.

I'm having difficulty taking this post seriously but if this is how you really feel, send your suggestions/comments to kindle-feedback@amazon.com.

They aren't free, maybe you are talking about something else, but as I understand it, the OP is talking about Kindle First.

Kindle First books are free for Prime members. You get to choose one per month from a selection of four:

Free to keep or just borrow? Is it separate from the KOLL?

Kindle First books are free.

Prime members can choose one of the four offered books at no charge and one month prior to the official release date.

They have all been limited to Amazon imprints so far but I think that is the point. I suspect they're looking for both sales and reviews for their authors.

They are free to me - I have Prime. I guess I forgot that they aren't free to everyone. :)

It is separate from the KOLL, you get to keep the books, and they can be read on apps as well as Kindles.

Thanks, I thought the big thing was that you could get them before they were released to the general public, didn't know they were free!

They are also generally far better quality than the books available in the KOLL, in my opinion.

Just another Prime perk.

Probably because most (if not all) are published by an Amazon imprint, and are not the self-published stuff that the KOLL is full off.

In reply to an earlier post on Jan 28, 2014 10:53:48 AM PST
Not probably. Because.

Even if you are not a Prime member you can get one of the Kindle First books for $1.99 which is usually less than the price it will be released at. So it benefits anyone that is interested.

Oh, dear. You're not clear on the concept. I'm sorry you don't understand.
