For those that don't know, Kindle Active Content [KAC] is apps, not literature,
that you can use on your Kindle Paperwhite!

From what I understand, Amazon stopped the development of this in Spring 2012.
The KACs that're still out there continue to be sold.
But new KAC will not be allowed to be made.

Why'd Amazon do such a thing?!?
To think, all these wonderful experiments with the eInk form will be missed out on.
Things like The King Of Shreds & Patches, Runes, Monopoly,
The Shadow In The Cathedral, Scrabble, HandyCalc, plus much so much more!

Any info on this?
Thanks!

He probably pulled it out of the same place he pulls all of his weird stuff that he posts.

I think he visits the Land of Bizarre at least once a day.

Look at his name..................... He's nothing but an Apple troll.

This rumor occurred in April of 2013, not spring 2012 and Amazon (and at least 1 dev) quickly disputed said rumors.

The portal to put in an application for developers and dev kits (it's always been marked as a "beta") is still active. The API documentation for Kindle Active Content is also still available.

Uhm.. what is "snippy" about simply clarifying the facts? All I said was that the rumor existed but at a different point in time. o_O Shesh. Defensive much?

I suggest you look at your previous posts. 1 was deleted by Amazon, the remainder seem to be hidden due to the downvotes. That should tell you something .... or maybe not.

"Why'd Amazon do such a thing?!?"

Just how successful were most of these? I picked up a number of them when I first got my Kindle Keyboard - and most of those were free. About the only one I still use is the Sudoku Works one, and that's just because it works so well on my Kindle Touch.
