Jim says:
I have a Kindle Fire and a Prime Membership. I have been trying to borrow a book from the Lending Library but can't get to any place with my Kindle that shows the options as they are shown on the "instruction" page... http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/?docId=1000739811
Can anyone give me step by step help on this? Sure would appreciate it.

**Meya** says:
Turn on the WiFi, tap Books, then Store, look down the right side of the page for Kindle Owner's Lending Library.

You have to do this from the device itself, you cannot do it from the computer.

Are you the paid Prime member and not a guest or have free student or mom Prime? If so, follow Americus' directions.

I am a free student prime, so I have to be a paid member in order to borrow books?

That is correct. Only paid Prime members who own a Kindle device (not an app) are eligible to borrow from the lending library.

I have a Kindle keyboard (aka Kindle 3) & wonder how to borrow books on my kindle? Where are the instructions? Is it available for all Kindles?

It is shocking that kindle purchasers are not issued with a guide.

The Kindle guide is on the Kindle itself. You can also look it up in the help pages here on Amazon.

It is shocking how many buy a ereader and want a paper guide.

It is shocking how many Kindle purchasers ignore the quick start guide in the box and the users guide on the device.

Every Kindle has a guide installed on the device. It's shocking that you pulled up an 8-month-old thread to add a useless comment to it.

It is shocking that you don't realize that many electronic gadgets are not issued with a paper guide.

Edit: Added "paper".

What did Amazon say when you suggested this to them? You know we're all just customers here, right?

ETA: Deleted, by jingo. Coward.

Are you using your Kindle? You can't borrow from a computer, it has to be done using a Kindle. If you're using a Fire, it can't be done under the web tab. You have to use the books tab, then tap where it says "store" in the upper right corner. Then you will see the borrow button.

I do not see I "borrow" button.

Are you in the US? Is your Prime subscription a paid (not free student/guest/mommy) membership? Are you using a Kindle? What model is it? What steps are you going through to try to borrow?
