No idea. What happens? Are you getting any error messages?

No error messages

Have you tried a hard reset? Ensure Fire is fully charged and press and hold the power button for 30 seconds (time it). If the Fire doesn't restart, press the power button one more time to restart. Wait until the home screen fully loads which may take a few minutes

I have the same issue and I've done the hard reset and it still won't download. No error message just reverts to main screen.

CatChat says:
for both of you having problems with apps, on fires, try resetting the app store app.

go into your kindle settings menu and click on "applications",
click on "installed apps", and if you can, filter by running apps.
find the app store app and click on it.
clear the cache
clear the data
force close the app (you will get a warning, but it's ok to do)
make your way back to the home screen and try using an app to see if your issue is fixed.

Did suggestion work for anyone? Just need to know if it's worth going through all this work. Nothing else suggested has worked for me.

CatChat's suggestion worked great! It isn't that many steps to do, maybe a half-dozen taps on the kindle. It is much quicker than a hard reset, which didn't work for me. My problem was that I wasn't able to download any games from the cloud.

I guess you'll never know, unless you try, will you?

The suggestion worked great for me. Thanks!! Especially after 3 long weeks of not being able to play on the MyVegas app.
