Why can't we but the Ellis Peters Kindle books available at

More than likely because the publisher doesn't have the rights to sell them here.

Probably for the same reason that the UK store has the old Mary Stewart books on Kindle and we don't. I keep pressing the "I want to read it on my Kindle" link and hoping though!

How bizarre.
They were there briefly last Nov., and I bought the first Cadfael. Then three Cadfaels showed up again last week, plus several of the Felse series (i bought the first), and now they're gone again?
Must have serious rights issues.

ETA: just checked MYK, Cadfael was actually purchased in August.

actually they are here (hover over the links and you'll see that they are listed on

Monk's-Hood - Ellis Peters (Chronicles of Brother Cadfael Book 3)
One Corpse Too Many - Ellis Peters (Chronicles of Brother Cadfael Book 2)
Brother Cadfael's Penance (Chronicles of Brother Cadfael)
The Raven In The Foregate (Chronicles of Brother Cadfael)

but they'll likely come up as unavailable to you - I have my Country Setting set to France (where I live) where Head of Zeus (the publisher) obviously has the license to sell them as well as in the UK and it doesn't look like they sell them online as they link to the Kindle store, iBooks and Kobo

Yup, they seem to have "pan-European" rights - the whole series is available from Croatia.

On June 18th I bought Dead Man's Ransom, Monk's Hood and One Corpse too Many. They seem to come and go. Different ones were available last year and then they disappeared. Hopefully they will straighten it out. The same thing is happening, by the way, on Audible. where they also seem to come and go. Right now there are some Stephen Thorne narrations available. He is my favorite narrator for the Cadfael book.
