As everyone here knows Monday is the day that Leo always opens the thread for us. I am opening it in Leo's absence as he was in the hospital last week fighting an infection.

Let's all give Leo some love today and let him know that we wish him good health and healing and we look forward to his return when he's feeling better. ♥

Stocking fillers for grown kids - Yes I usually still make stockings for my kids even though they are grown - I usually collect things through the year with special offers and then at the last minute find that I don't have enough !! Mostly I fill with sensible stuff, toothpaste/brushes, nice soap, hand cream, ice scrapers for car windscreens, socks, key rings, mini wooden puzzles (cubes etc) sweets/candy, Xmas tree decorations, bottle of beer, shampoo, pack of cards, scratcher card, deodorant, footbath salt, face-pack, small kitchen things etc and a tangerine (traditional in my family)
Hope that gives you some ideas

Hope you enjoy your "day off" today and hope that you will use it wisely, taking care of yourself, recuperating and relaxing, having fun and maybe writing. Let us know what you get up to and how you are feeling - better I hope

As kids we always got an orange or a tangerine, a box of crayons, bubble bath and of course a candy canes.. Don't really know why we always got the candy canes, none of us ate them.. Just a tradition..

Leo, I do hope that you are getting well rested and are on your way to being well..

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 15, 2013 10:38:57 PM PST
That is really smart of you to collect items for their stocking throughout the year red. I'll have to remember that for next year.

I finished most of my shopping today. I have a couple odds and ends to get still, but minor things that can be done next weekend. Now I need to start wrapping.

I assume you will be starting to pack for your trip soon. Did you finish your shopping?

Well it is 6*C out so it is nearly summer-like today LOL so the bike ride will be good.
We have an added bonus at work today, a really nice guy who was originally trained in our department here and has risen to top management level in our head office (abroad) is coming to Copenhagen today for a meeting, it is always so nice to see my "boys" when they visit - so looking forward to that.

Did you continue the traditions when you became a mother ? Do you make a stocking for Chris ?

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 15, 2013 10:42:35 PM PST
Hey Sandy... How has your day been? Tradition is so much a part of the holidays. Did your carry on the same tradition with Chris?

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 15, 2013 10:46:54 PM PST
LOL You and I seem to be on the same wavelength today red. ;)

Maybe you can work on your tan on your ride to work.... The way you will really impress your office and the young man who was trained in your office. ;o)

Yeah, pretty much the same.. Although I don't do the candy cane, he likes goobers and peanut m&m's
so I use them. It just seems silly to get what we don't eat. Batteries are also good..
Never thought of a bottle of beer though..
I also pick up deals that I see during the year.. I actually have some TMNT that I'm going to use this year.

I'm off to get some sleep. I have PT at 7:00am... I mean zero dark thirty in the morning and I need some rest to be prepared. I'll see you a little later in the morning.

Leo, if your reading the thread today I hope you are feeling better since leaving the hospital late last week. I'm sure you happy to be back in your own bed and having Charla nurse you back to good health. I'm sending you prayers for a quick recovery.

Wendy ♥

I have a drawer that I put little gifts in that I have picked up at various times during the year. I had some extra earbuds that I got last year on a Lightening Deal that I'm using for their stockings. Last year I got them each those tiny flashlights that go on a keychain. Those were a big hit. They are very bright and not too bulky on the keychain.

I'm off to bed now. I hope you have a good morning reading. I'll see you later. ;)

Leo Little says:
thank you so much for thinking of me. recovery still seems slow. I still feel very weak, but I also believe I'm getting a little better every day. I see my doctor in the morning.
I am very touched by how many people have sent their wishes for my good health. Though I have little money and not much else I can call my own, I am wealthy beyond my dreams for I count friends not gold or possessions as my riches.
