I bought an app today and I had to pay with real money.

Where can I find the 500 coins Amazon gave to me?

Thanks.

Did you purchase the app thru the app store on your fire?

When you are shopping on your computer, you'll see the number of coins you have available above the price of the app. You have to choose to use the coins...it's up to you when you use coins versus your other payment method.

When you are shopping on a Kindle Fire (I'm not sure if this is true on the 1st generation Kindle Fire), and you go to

Apps - Store

you'll see your coin balance in your bottom right corner of the screen.

I have a 1st generation KF and the coin balance won't show up.
I guess I'll have to buy my apps on my computer.

I deleted my post b/c I realized this isn't the right thread for my comment.

But they gave all supporters and active members of that group triple the amount. Only fair.

I think on the 1st gen models they were not able to show it. I believe you can see your balance on a PC. or when making a purchase?

I see my coins when I purchase an app on the computer. I have purchased a couple of apps using my coins and have had no problems.

I don't know how it looks on the Fire, but on HERE, the coins show up when I got to the product page of a paid app. Up under "Buy with 1-Click", it says, "You have 500 coins".

ETA: That said, I can't buy Batman: Arkham City Lockdown (Kindle Tablet Edition), for example, because it's $5.99, and I only have $5 in coins. It won't let me pay the extra 99 cents. I can ONLY 1-Click.

First gen fire owners must do it through amazon.com not the app tab. I have the first gen, and instead of the appstore tab follow this:

Web > amazon > appstore > the app

Once there you will see your current balance if any and choose that method of payment. Once bought you will have to go to your appstore tab and then to your cloud to download it to your device. It may take a couple of minutes to show up but you will get it. You can always sync to show faster.

Folina-ma-fyke, what you can do in that case is...purchase more coins. :) That's what I did to get a $9.99 app. In that case, you'll also get the app at a discount (since the coins are a savings over cash). However, you can't purchase just 99 coins, so you have to take into account if you will purchase more apps or do in-app purchases in the future.

I talk about that more in the FAQ:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/forums/kindleqna/ref=cm_cd_tft_tp?ie=UTF8&cdForum=Fx1GLDPZMNR1X53&cdThread=Tx1BLFZ2ULIC42C

I'm not an Amazon official, but I do explain the process. The only problem I've found with it is that it took a while for my coin purchase to appear...it wasn't instant.

Yeah, I decline to go down the 10-hotdogs-but-8-buns-per-package rabbit hole.

Because I just had to buy some! LOL. I just got 4 and 4; I figured some kids eat them by themselves, anyway.
