Project Presentations on a screen?

I am considering the Kindle Fire. One feature I need to have is to be able to project a power point presentation onto a screen in a meeting room environment.

Is it possible with Kindle Fire and if so, has anyone attempted it?

Thank you.

Lisa, the Fire has no ability to host any device, or output video.

Nope it is not possible. The Fire does not have any video outputs and you cannot hook any USB devices to it. It is essentially a external hard drive itself for connecting to a computer only to transfer files.

If you need that feature, you need a different device. There is exactly one way to show the Fire's screen on an external display: point a video camera at the Fire, and connect the camera to the display.

Thank you. This is has been difficult for me to discern from all the tablets out there. Do you know of any tablet that can project a presentation? Maybe I just need to go with a Netbook.

We use ASUS Eee Slate EP121-1A011M 12.1-Inch Tablet PC for presentations, but they're Windows tablets.

I've connected my iPad to a TV before, so probably could be connected to a projector too, altho I haven't personally tried.

Does anyone know of a tablet that will work on a "smart board?" One of my son's just finished his first year teaching 7th grade science, and they use a smart board in the classroom. (I've never seen this myself, he lives in another state) Anyway, he is starting to look at tablets, and hopes to find one that will work along with this smart board. They function like large touch screen, if I understood him correctly.

Does anyone here have any knowledge of this?

Fabulous question. Wish I knew the answer. I need to talk to DS and get more info. He was visiting last weekend, and it came up in conversation.

I use my iPad 2 for presentations routinely, with either the optional HDMI or VGA adapters that connect to its docking port. Many Android tablets include video outputs.

Most tablets that have a video output have a mini-HDMI connector. Most XGA projectors (the most common resolution, 1024x768) have 15-pin VGA or DVI connectors; HDMI is still rare on business projectors. People using tablets for presentations therefore usually need HDMI (or mini-HDMI) to VGA adapters, and should never assume the venue will have one.
